Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz 2015

9.1

1hr+ decant and could have used more. Dark red color. Interesting nose with metallic, medicinal tones that tingled my nose. Wine has massive strawberry and cassis; and is sweeter than I was expecting. Very concentrated. The tannins reduce with ample air and the spicy aspects dissipate with time as well making it more approachable. Medium finish. — 3 years ago

Char, toast, damp fire wood, plum, dark cherry, blackberry, chocolate, bacon and onion jam. High level of tannin here, medium degree of acidity. Solidsh length. Good example of old school Barossa. — 6 years ago

Descendant Barossa Valley Shiraz Viognier 2009

Smells kind of like... Wax, I suppose and mild oak.

Tastes big. Dark berries, nice round tanins with a mild finish.

1990 vintage - one of the beauties of coming home to check out your cellar - reminds me of walking the Yalumba cellar years ago. 1990 I was still at high school... brambly, compote, leather spice, black olive w spices nutmeg cinnamon. Still a youngster xx — 9 years ago

Valley Floor Barossa Shiraz 2017

Dark purple. On the nose there is ripe plums, blueberry, pepper and wiff of oak. On the palate it's full of sweet dark fruits, some vanilla, pepper and mix of granberry and lingonberry that comws up towards the end. Tannins are fine if a bit drying and wine has nice structure and acidity that keeps it fresh. This could be from southern france. Great qpr — 3 years ago

Keyneton Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz 2012

Holy smokes. Such an elegant wine, brooding black fruit, solid oak presence, meaty, spicy, peppery, silk tannins, long finish. Needs a good decant.

If the 12' Mt. Edelstone's this good, what more the HOG! Must try.

The Standish Wine Company

Single Vineyard Shiraz 2003

I love Dan Standish. He is one of the best winemakers. Lovely wine, very young. Blueberry and Red silky fruit. Full Bodied but not overly alcoholic, heat isn't obvious in this wine. Great length and layers of flavours. Big points from me 95 points. A producer I highly recommend! Typical sweet Barossa fruit, very seductive... — 9 years ago
