One of my favorite wines for eccentric flavour. — 10 years ago
Deep Golden color, bottle age clearly showing on the nose (love that note), still strong, sappy and complex. One of my favorite producers - passionate, eccentric, honest.

Lots to love about this wine, starting with the name, Sbirolo, which refers to an old but pleasantly eccentric person in Piemontese dialect. The wine itself is juicy and smoother than most Langhe Nebbiolo, pretty and bodacious. Terrific value, too! — 9 years ago
The 2012 Timberline is eccentric and full, definitely a delight for the senses. The nose explodes with dark fruits and meatiness, laced with white pepper and hints of cotton candy. In the mouth, fruit abounds and is complemented by a matrix of black pepper and firm tannins with a surprising note of coconut jelly beans. This ever-evolving wine is approachable now and will be enjoyable over the next five years.

The fill and palate suggest this has been topped up. An enjoyable mix of a clear and slightly funky aged gevrey with a blast of younger fruit. Slightly eccentric but tasty — 10 years ago
Wife says 'pure velvet' with little finish. Leaves the roof of your mouth dry. Tasty. — 11 years ago

Wild, deep, like your eccentric Grandmother. — 9 years ago
Sparklefest 2016. Eccentric and beautiful. Plenty of residual sugar, but not cloying. — 9 years ago
Eccentric Touraine! Ripe tropical fruit and clearly some vanilla tones from barrel aging. Intense and convincing. White Bordeaux style. This one can go on for a few more years I guess. Low yealding 55 year-old vines. Organic grapes. Indigenous yeasts. Bought it directly at the winery a few years ago. — 10 years ago
VERY eccentric — 10 years ago
Crisp and tangy fruits. Light body. Eccentric. Notes of cardamom and blueberry. A fantastic and complex wine. — 11 years ago
Weir vineyard 2009.; Yorkville Highlands, Mendocino County. Red and black currants, saffron, beautiful. World-class Pinot! "Eccentric clones" says the label, also high elevation near the coast. Concentrated but elegant - remarkable. — 11 years ago
Fun, lovely complexity, dessert like last & an eccentric winemaker!! Thanks Matthew for introducing us to MV.

Have made notes about this remarkable Pinot elsewhere. Even more enjoyable tasting it and chatting with Nick Mills, the highly enthusiastic, intelligent and eccentric winemaker and owner of Rippon who must have the most scenic workplace of any of us on the shores of Lake Wanaka. — 9 years ago
