Clear ruby magenta color, smells of wet green coffee beans, malty bourbon and raspberry jam, taste starts out with a malty and aged raspberry taste that gets slightly bubble gummy, the acid just sits on the tongue, wandering and pricking with the green coffee meaty leathery taste at the end — 6 years ago
Fridays are for Franc! And I. LOVE. THIS. WINE. I could not believe the aromatics that exploded from the bottle when I pulled the cork. Seriously it was like there was a blueberry pie baking in the kitchen. Decanted for an hour or so. Deep magenta in the glass. Loads of Cherry and blueberry on the palate mingle with vanilla, chocolate, herbs, and earth - very rich, but so incredibly balanced at the same time. I’ve been a longtime fan of Detert wines and this very well may be my favorite vintage of their Franc to date. I’m just wowed. Can’t wait to revisit this again and see how it evolves. Really well done @Tom Garrett (as always). — 7 years ago
750ml purchased in 2012 and aged in cellar for 4 years. If you have the opportunity, do so. Continues to ferment. Sweetness subsides. Amazingly effervescent. Sharp, bitter, rich. Did foam over continuously, have a decanter handy. — 9 years ago
Alc smell, blackberry, leather, magenta red, tannin blackberry taste with some green burlap, a tannin ending with a consistent underlying acid — 5 years ago
Quarantine materials ready. Creature comforts are getting me through this thing. Give me good coffee, pavement to pound, a pen that dances on the page, a worn notebook with still empty pages to fill, jazz weaving the air, and a bottle of wine, and I will kill all the time there is.
A magenta shawl in the glass.
Earth’s fragrance caught in a bottle. Sweet, sweet clay. Leather. Intense plums and orange zest. Sea breeze. This is a memorable and rich bouquet.
Subtle smoke quality reminiscent of the char in the bark of good brisket. A reserved dark fruit quality which is there, but just teases you as a spicy black peppercorn note swings in for a jab. It’s smooth.
An eloquence in the expression and structure. Like a mathematical proof or a line of poetry you cannot easily forget.

For Nico's 1st semester completion celebration dinner. Dark magenta in color. Rose petal and hints of marzipan aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Pomegranate and stewed cherry flavors. Lingering lauered finish. This my jam! — 8 years ago

Blueberry, blackberry, currant, slightly meat, cherry liquor, very dark purple magenta, lots of sugar, woody cherry liqueur, dark chocolate, blackberry, currant, boysenberry, blueberry, acid and tannins at end are balanced and leave some heat that is dry yet sticky but mouth and mildly alkaline — 5 years ago
2 hour decant(very little sediment). A medium dark magenta color with some browning. On the nose: A sweet perfumed nose with tart cherry, floral, crushed rocks. Taste: Red berries, floral notes, mocha, minerals, with a dry smokey cherry finish. A soft medium body wine with soft tannins that could use a few more years to fully resolve...still drinking well on this rainy Saturday night! — 5 years ago
Dark purple, magenta, rich sugar blueberry, blackberry smell, syrupy, bit too sweet I think, I wish the fruit came out more! It’s definitely a lot. — 6 years ago
Fresh, magenta flavor with vibrant acidic backbone. Ginger, plum, pepper, thyme, garrigue. — 8 years ago
My buddy asked me for a "big, bold red" and this is what I gave him. He's in love. Deep, dark purple with a magenta rim. The oak is evident with a vanilla sugary explosion on the nose. The palate tastes like a creme brulee with a ton of blackberries and red plums. A lot of people don't care for this big style but when you want it, this is what you should go for. — 9 years ago
Kayle has an excuse for not loading wines....but what does it say that as I type I have 48 wines...you only have 6.... — 11 years ago

Airetta 2008 Cab Sauvignon. A reddish-purplish magenta color. Nose - blackberry-cherry, roasted meat, black olives and pine essence with hints of cedar-menthol. Velvety smooth on the pallet with a mixture of blackberry-cherry fruit, spice and a mineral-earth leather giving its medium dry finish. Tannins are well integrated. Very enjoyable on the mid-pallet where the flavors of the wine come out. — 5 years ago
