Bürklin Estate Riesling 2020

Dry and very classic tasting Riesling. Wet stone, lime, honeysuckle, green apple, green pear, flint, and the faintest hint of petrol. Clean with high acidity, medium alcohol, light body and a terrific compliment to food. I had it with tuna tartare and it was a knockout. Terrific value. — 3 years ago

Böhlig Wachenheimer Riesling 2017

Unsurprisingly warm & rich (warm vintage) and layered with quite some weight & substance and a dense, oily texture. Cutting through this, and beautifully balancing it all out, comes bright, mineral acidity. Ripe peach & apricot, baked lemons, a dollop of honey, a smoky note towards the finish.
This is quite complex and very good.... yet somehow misses the wow factor.

Pechstein Riesling 2014

Lyle Fass
9.5

Love this vintage fir Pechstein. Superb citrus. Grapefruit, tangelo, blood orange, lime blossom, superb vivid mineralIty. Vivid wet earth as well. Terrific. Palate is complex with intense 14 acid, a playful yet serious profile. Wonderful texture and intense lemony extract and acids on the mid and finish. But also a serene type zen texture. Clean and compact but lingers on the very long finish. Awesome inner mouth confectionary mineral aromas. Terrific. — 6 years ago

Blanc 2021

Quite enjoyable. Breezy tropical flowers on the nose, with sweet/tangy fruit on the palate. Mouth-watering acidity, and a good balance overall. Blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Scheurebe. 3/4/23. — 3 years ago

Riesling Forster Ungeheur G.C. 2015

Somewhat reserved on the nose but big and powerful on the palate. Citrus, butter lemon PU the and mineral. Quite alcoholic (13.5%) for a Riesling and it shows in the mouthfeel. — 5 years ago

Nice wine. Acid was a little unbalanced for me but strong typicity for Pfalz and a good partner for fish and rice. — 5 years ago

Grosses Gewächs Jesuitengarten Riesling 2004

This was surprisingly weak in our 2004 riesling study. Very sweet fruited and a touch warm. Rich and minerally. Probably needs time to sort itself out. — 7 years ago
