Very good, pretty light. Slightly too sweet after a while. — 9 years ago
Super Delishous ... smooth and no flavors of oak (which we typically do not enjoy). Imported by the Square Root LLC company in Fitchburg, WI. A rare find! — 9 years ago
This is a great example of Burgundy that is well-made and a great value. Drinks like a baby Meursault. Nice weight and richness, leesy, ripe citrus notes, minerals, fresh. Acidity is a touch lower but creates a broad and open texture. Lovely with creamy cheese and cordon bleu — 9 years ago
A fantastic flavorful, brightly grapefruited wine that leaves a wonderful flavor as it finishes. Perfect with cheese, creamy soup, and salad. I will have it again, and again.... — 10 years ago
The 2019 Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Vieilles Vignes is completely barrel fermented; however, since ‘03 Merlin has utilised less new oak, currently using around 10-15%. The 2019 is well-defined on the nose with hints of white flowers and orange blossom. The palate is quite spicy and peppery, a powerful Mâcon with just a light touch of honey towards the finish. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, November 2021)

Had bottle at home with soba noodles and salmon. Delicious. — 9 years ago
Fantastic white wine. Perfect Chardonnay that pairs acidity and butteriness oh so well. Could drink all night. — 9 years ago
Pop and pour, notes from 45 min open. Lovely, and my best bottle..also my last '12. On the nose: lemon, soft ginger, a touch of honey, some sour apple. On the palate: excellent acidity and density, mirroring the nose. Paired with baked whole branzino, stuffed with onions and herbs...yum. — 5 years ago

2022/5/28 with tai sashimi 2 ways, tomato in dashi, chicken and new onion in pea and white miso soup, etc. There may be some bias since I’ve been looking for bottles like this since being reminded of how good classicist white Burgundy is with Kyoto food, but this really did it, and even more so considering the price. Savory, salty minerals, butter and citrus, the requisite oak, some honey from maturity - it all just works. — 4 years ago
