Given the producer style, I thought this would be the most approachable, but it was quite shut down. Perhaps due to the vintage since some are going into slumber. Darker fruit than the first, hints of sour cherries and tea. Has got density and structure to age for 10-20 years. — 7 years ago
Man, Burgundy really is a thing. — 8 years ago
Dark, still rather closed. Lots of good spice and brambles hiding for next 3-5+ yrs. — 9 years ago
With an hour decant, this opens to show beautiful ripe red cherries and rose petals, with a lithe and succulent texture. Great value. — 10 years ago

Very bright but very excellent Bourgogne rouge. — 7 years ago
Bringing an old world stylistic ethos, Moray Tawse, who also owns Marchand-Tawse in Burgundy, founded his eponymous winery in 2000. Tawse yields some of Niagara's most finely focused, cool climate wines, in particular their Chardonnays. Cultivated from Tawse's certified biodynamic vineyard on Vinemount Ridge, the Quarry Road Chardonnay bursts with high-velocity swaths of saline energy. Painting swift strokes of taut, smoky stone flavors matched by cold, concentrated apple character, the wine recalls the great Chardonnays of Chablis - Montée de Tonnerre coming to mind for me. — 7 years ago
Delightful! Tasting this Pinot reinvigorated my pursuit of quality reds. Marchand Tawse did a bang up job with this NSG. You will taste a little wood and mushroom on the tip of your tongue... best not to spit with this one. Full of delight, this 1er Cru, with balled up flavors easy to suck down on doesn't make it a hard choice. — 8 years ago

Black cherry, boysenberry, blood orange, sassafras, licorice, clove, allspice, tobacco. Dark fruit profile, serious acid and very grippy tannins. A bit hard and austere on the palate right now but has the stuffing to age a few years and round out some of the jagged edges. Fair amount of complexity and depth for a more than reasonable price. — 7 years ago

Stage 7 of #tourdefrance 2017 enters my favorite region of Burgundy. Never had this NSG before. Very light in color with mineral and strong cherry flavors. Overall light and pleasant. Probably a bit young to pick up secondary complexity. Great with pork chops. — 8 years ago
