Strong fruity nose with red and black fruits, light wood, spices, light barnyard, coffee, dark chocolates and earth.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, currants, light wood, Mediterranean spices, herbs, earth and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Grenache /Syrah blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and rich. Fruit forward and very approachable already.
A great vintage that will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Complex and nicely balanced. The nose gives Northern Rhone vibes. Easy drinking and an interesting wine. Still very young, but already enjoyable, even by itself.
A blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah. The Grenache comes from 100 year old vines. Aged in large French oak barrels for 18 months. A small production of less than 3,300 bottles. Made only in special vintages.
2003 Deus ex Machina is an amazing wine. Very new world in style. Beutiful fruit and positively choclatey. Reminiscent of an SQN or of the Barroche Pure. Loved it. — 10 years ago
Is it Pure? Great stuff. 2012 is a more elegant year for Chateauneuf du Pape and while still big, this isn't the sledgehammer it could've been, and that's a good thing — 10 years ago
Stumbled onto this Grenache/Syrah combo. It was wonderful out of the bottle. It did not need to open up. It actually went well with the lemon sole, cream corn and long beans as well as the folic gras with Eclair and cherries. Wonderful French wine — 10 years ago
