Oak, unexpectedly rich. Fresh, fruity, elegant Jean Michel Guillon,Bourgogne Pinot Blanc 21 @1100, wine plus, 241004 — a year ago
Oak and fruity aroma. Concentrated. Berry, violet and plum. Good match with BBQ chicken with Japanese source. 2020 @3000, domaine - BBQC, 230701-230704 — 2 years ago
I heard a rumor that there’s a competition between DRC and Jean-Michel Guillon when it comes to the amount of new French oak used. While I can’t substantiate that, I can confirm that the oak used for this bottle smells expensive and it certainly seems to work in Guillon’s favor because this is a really tasty treat. The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin “VV” pours a deep ruby with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart red fruits: Bing cherry, strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, porcini, dry forest floor, and beautiful balance of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and absolutely delicious. I tend to be fearful of liberal use of oak but in the end, I try not to judge if the wine is in balance and in this case, it most certainly is. Drink now through 2036+. — 5 months ago

Damn this was good. Purely old world, perfectly integrated fruit, forest floor with some graphite and lots of depth. — 13 days ago
