Domaine Capitain-Gagnerot (François Capitain-Gagnerot)

Les Grandes Lolieres Grand Cru Corton Pinot Noir 1999

‪Lovely 1999 Corton Les grandes Lolières from Capitain-Gagnerot this evening! Lithesome fruit (cherries/plumb) theeaded with vivacious life-affirming acidity. Drinking well now but will no doubt unfold further over the next half century.‬ — 7 years ago

Les Grandes Brosses Chenin Blanc 2010

Gladys Knight definitely heard it through the grapevine on this wine. Grape roundness with hints of olive oil, citrus, and saline.

Les Grandes Vignes Nuits-St.-Georges Pinot Noir 2007

From split opened half hour before consumption. Earth, red fruit, and a hint of funk. Smooth tannins; searing acidity. Probably could use another five years to achieve better balance. — 9 years ago

I actually really enjoy the ones that have a couple grams of sugar. They're all over the place in Europe because we have all the ones that are too sweet in the states. — 13 years ago

Vin de Pays de l'Aude Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

My husband and I really enjoyed this bottle of red blend that we had never tried before, opened while making a Mediteranian pork dish to whet our appetites for dinner. Very smooth and rich, a nice blend of Cabernet and Merlot. Mild smokiness and berries. — 6 years ago

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Les Grandes Ruchottes Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2011

Being a huge PYCM fan that I am, this was the first "meh" bottle I've had. It was still Pierre-Yves with mouth-watering acidity, summer fruit aromas and all that — just a bit too toasty to my taste, a bit too much of pronounced oak. It lacked that masculine elegance that I'm after in PYCM wine, but still was delicious and lovely. — 11 years ago
