Maravilhoso tinto da Borgonha, ainda que tenha passado um pouco do auge. — 7 years ago
Beautiful color. Rich, yet light. Not overly sweet. Pear, hint of orange. Reminds me a little of a white port, but not as heavy. Quite Delicious! — 8 years ago

Drank this during the CellarTracker Virtual Burgundy Tasting last night via Zoom. My first experience with any of the wines of Domaine Julien. This was a pop and pour situation and I wished I had given it more airtime because this was suuuuuuper primary and tightly coiled. Loads of tart, wild alpine strawberries, like the Smultron you find in a Scandinavian forest, taking center stage. Tongue pricking acidity. Beyond that, there isn’t much more at this stage in development. However, the purity is beyond typical for a humble Bourgogne and a few years in the cellar would do this a great service. I expect better things when the tannins better integrate and secondary characteristics begin to appear. Drink with an extended decant or hold until 2025. — 6 years ago
