A touch of bubs — 2 years ago
Deep gold. Abundant nose of dried apples and golden raisins. Sturdy full-bodied palate echoes the nose with a hint of yellow flowers. Strikingly firm acidity from entry to finish. Has clearly held up well over the decades, and is showing graciously now. A tasty treat in its own, but really shines paired with tarte tatin. — 3 years ago
Huet always sets a high bar and here’s another wine where the estate vaults to new heights. So floral. So much floral intrigue, it’s baroque and achingly beautiful. I don’t think any Chenin I’ve tasted has the level of floral definition of Domaine Huet’s best. And always of course just the right acid and texture, some lemon, a touch of honey and always high-toned and weightless. Effortless balance. Or rather, just plain in-service-to-the terroir, sane, zen (egoless) and restrained winemaking. — 6 months ago
Very good tonight. Magenta/purple in the glass with a nice brilliance. A dizzying array of fruit, with the red spectrum featured. Tar, some floral (violet) notes beautifully balanced and a long, pleasing finish. While it is powerful, there is an elegance which vaults it to the next level. I’d say my favorite of Mr. Pott’s wines. — 2 years ago
