Paired really well with pesto pasta with chicken. Thought it would clash a bit, but actually paired very well. Would recommend with this pairing. For me the pairing makes the wine due to bringing all of the flavors from the wine and food. Even though ppl have ranked it lower, the pairing makes it a great wine. Needs to open up a bit, but once it does, it fully pours it's heart out. Plenty of smooth berries, hints of great vanilla, and went down smoothly. — 9 years ago
Inky dark color with bold and brooding fruit on the nose. You can almost feel the Syrah and Zinfandel gracefully grappling with each for dominance in the glass. Their internal clash has rounded out the edges and imparted great muscularity that culminates in a velvety finish, 10 seconds+. Adamantine. — 9 years ago

A clash of civilizations. Funky Syrah is not yet wholly integrated into the cab, a thin bead of water separates integration. — 9 years ago
Does not clash with artichoke. — 11 years ago
Heavy hitter here! Lemon Madelines covered in dark caramel, cola, orange zest, aged rum, fine tobacco, vanilla, baked blood of tubers, roasted chestnuts. The palate is aggressive as a sleeping beast caught unawares. An awkward silence, impending clash, metallic taste. Ethiopian coffee-candy, burnt cinnamon roll, honey-maple babies, brown sugar, licorice extract ash, African dream tea, Fernet branca tonic. Lingering dark aftertastes. Heavy and potent as the surprised eyes of the roused beast. Lunge. — 6 years ago

Ripe and syrupy. Dark fruit with mild red fruit undertones. Tobacco and leather clash with damp earth. — 9 years ago
Donna visit 11/3/16. Nose of flowers and butter and hints of minerals. Palate had acidic and stony and orally oaky notes. Long finish that is complex. However didn't go quite well with lobster poached in butter. The acidic and oaky elements seen to stand out and clash. — 9 years ago
Ruby red grapefruit and the peel, fresh pine, roasted pecan, with just enough caramel malt to impart some roundness and balance, but not so much as to clash with the hops. — 9 years ago
First reaction: wow, what *is* this? An explosion of wild berry and fresh cut flower flavors clash against charred meat and dark chocolate, swirling together in a way that's exciting, odd, and a little disjointed at first. There's some syrupy liquor on the back of the tongue along with more dark chocolate, espresso, and beef reduction in this bold, big-bodied wine. A bit of mint on the nose. A nice volcanic soil and granite minerality provides more structure and complexity. Alcohol is medium-plus. The finish is long, developing rose petal, onion grass and spice notes along the way without an overdose of wood. Much more integrated after a two hour decant. I asked my wine merchant to point me to something unusual, and he sure did! — 10 years ago
Carbonic Syrah from high-density Ballard Canyon blocks. I was skeptical, but this is some serious juice, and like all of my favorite natural/low-intervention wines it is unmistakably representative of the grape’s traditional elements. This is Syrah, and you’re not left guessing. The carbonic, lifted notes are there, but they do not clash with or overshadow characteristics of the grape. Honestly, much more of a Rhône vibe than the more conventionally produced Stolpman wines (also delicious, for the record.) Getting more and more receptive to wines with glitter as I poke my head further into this natty wine rabbit hole... — 6 years ago
Pleasantly Pronounced fruit carries through the finish, medium bodied and enjoyable drinking wine. Black Cherry, balanced acidity. Fruit might clash with some food. Overall great value at DKK 90 from Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel in Amager/Copenhagen. — 8 years ago
Great all-purpose red. Had it with miso scallops, and even though it's a big wine, it didn't clash. — 9 years ago
Singing out loudly "Spanish Bombs" by the Clash and simply loving it! — 9 years ago
Love the bright golden straw color. Immediately after opening the nose was very animalistic. Did a dehydrated cat just pee on the bottle? Nope, okay. Moving on into lemon curd and wet cement. Settles with addition of straw and pear. Silky lemon bars on the mid with stone fruit undertones. I am reading that people are getting rubber on the mid/finish. I can agree. Bright sustained acids with the pear/lemon flavors balanced with the slate/cement minerality nearly clash with it's curd/silky texture but absolutely meld into a rad wine that makes me hungry for spicy ramen or miso cod. I'd take some calabrese salumi and stilton too. — 9 years ago
Perfect beer to pair with sushi or sashimi. Subtle floral notes with a hint of cherry and a light finish that will not clash with even the more delicate types of fish. — 10 years ago
Nice sparkling. Good lees on the nose and in the mouth, maybe too much? But I like it. — 11 years ago

Red berries all the way. Medium body, medium+ acidity and medium tannins. Had this with moules and not a terrible pairing. Enough acid to withstand the tomatoes but soft enough tannins to not clash with the seafood. Nice natural offering from the Clare Valley. — 6 years ago
