This dark wine - opaque, in fact - has a powerful nose. It packs a perfumed aroma package consisting of dark fruit - like blackberries - and only a limited supply of the earthiness which I often find in a Paso Robles Cab. There is a savory streak, to be sure, and it throws leather, tar and a pine forest into the nose. The chalky aspect of the Paso dirt comes through on the palate, which is heavily influenced by the earth and the two years spent in barrels. — 4 years ago
Great value for money wine. CHF 3.95 Denner — 5 years ago
A deep ruby GSM. Big fruit. Black and red fruit, with cranberry jam. Just a jam fest of flavor. Moderate tannins. Lingering finish. — 6 years ago
From Anthony Yount (also makes Kinero in addition to his main gig at Denner), this is a terrific, lighter style of clairette blanche. Has kind of a tight temperature window where it really signs - too warm and you lose the acidity, too cold and you lose the aromatics - but in its sweet spot just below 50 F it’s perfect. Will be interesting to see if it puts on a little weight with another year or two in bottle (which could be cool). — 4 years ago
Easy to drink, but not my favorite — 4 years ago
This is actually Ryan’s “Been Away Too Long” bottling, a 100% mourvedre sourced from Denner. If you don’t know these wine, do yourself a favor and try a few bottles. In my opinion he makes the best pure mourvedre outside of France. Unlike most mourvedres, Ryan’s are elegant - more like a grenache - but with great depth of flavor. His wines are very approachable when young, but definitely put on some weight and depth with a few years in the bottle, so my rating will absolutely go up with time. Terrific wines from a small, excellent winery in Paso. Check it out! — 4 years ago
A three-bottle-night was not the plan...but there you go. Terrific wine from Anthony Yount. Started off with Cris Cherry at Villa Creek, and now is making great wines at Denner, this is is red offering, which complements his amazing whites under his Kineros Cellars label (the “Alice” being the best grenache blanc you’ll find for the price anywhere in the world). Terrific grenache-driven blend, this is not one for long ageing, but a terrific one to open now. Well done, from one of the best young guns from Paso! — 5 years ago
A dense red, burst of fruit. Raspberry profile. Front of mouth explosion. Lingering finish. — 6 years ago
Denner sparkli fruchti moscato (starter). Perfekt für feier — 4 years ago
I believe this was a one off production for Booker. Jada Vineyard is located near Denner.
I followed this over two days and if I would have guessed blind, there is no way I would have guessed 60% Grenache on either day (although day 2 showed more finesse and lift) as it seems more dominant Syrah. This is high-toned and juicy. Great nose to it. Aromatically, there is licorice, melted dark chocolate, ripe and baked dark fruits, herbs de Provence, and charcoal. It’s already fairly soft and plush on the palate. Bite of tannin and heat toward the mid palate and finish, but it’s certainly not as heavy or dense as you’d expect. Grenache shows up briefly with some pepper and a small reveal of dried red fruits at the core. I think this is in a good drinking window. I believe @Paul T- Huntington Beach helped me get my hands on one of these a while back... — 5 years ago

Perfect blend of sweet, acid, and minerality. Very light in flavor (especially for the straw color) but flavorful. Honeysuckle, lime zest, and granite. — 3 years ago
