The 2016 'Royal St. Robert' is a gorgeous wine from Carlo and Dante Mondavi which is a dedication to their grandfather, Robert Mondavi. The Pinot Noir is 80% whole cluster with native fermentation and aged in a combination of 10% new, four-year air-dried French oak and 90% neutral French oak barrels before being bottled without fining or filtration. The wine itself is absolutely gorgeous as it begins with aromas of ripe strawberries and raspberries along with floral, spices, wet stones, blood orange and hints of tea leaf nuances all taking shape. This continues to impress with its fabulous medium body and beautiful fine, delicate tannins. Balanced and focused, this remains remarkably pure and persice though the silky finish. Overall, this is a fantastic wine which is already drinking remarkably well, but should also continue to develop with time. — 6 years ago

Subtle fruits and residual sugars. Nice. — 4 years ago
VJB has great #sonomavalley reds. This #cabernetsauvignon starts out tight with oaky vanilla, upon opening up there’s blackberry preserves, leather. Great concentration on the palate, enough acidity for balance and velvety tannins. — 5 years ago
Had another bottle, Wow! Laura Catena, 4th gen winemaker, grew up in Argentine-Italian winemaking family in Mendoza. Wines, named after her children - Luca, Dante & Nicola - background of the label is the McDermott coat of arms of her American husband, Daniel McDermott. Single-vineyard wine from land belonging to the Laborde family. Deep red with big ripe fruits & smoky oak. Palate plum & jammy blackberry, spice with nice earthy character. Tannins are a bit rustic, lingering ending with toasty oak & spice. — 6 years ago
First document to mention Terrabianca dated 1085: two centuries before Dante. Located 35 miles from Florence, in the heart of Chianti. A blend of 70% Sangiovese & 30% Cab Sauv, aged for 12 months in French & American oak. Dark Ruby with aromas of berry fruit and light toasty oak. On the palate cherry and ripe plum, a bit of spice and oak with a savory edge. Well balanced soft tannins, complex yet elegant. Lingering ending with fresh fruit and a little earthy mineral.
