Dark red purple in the glass. Full nose of red currant, roses, and bell pepper. Full bodied palate echoes the nose and delivers juicy black fruit on top. Firm, fuzzy tannins (medium plus) and medium acidity round out this wine that screams for beef. Drink now or in the next five years (by 2023). — 5 years ago
Pretty deep ruby /garnet core , lightening though not a lot at the edges , very big thick slow legs. Certainly secondary aromas now, ceder , licorice , blackcurrant with a meaty undertone , quite interesting and complex . In the mouth more of the blackcurrant fruit, minty notes also , then the tannins kick in. They are ripe but omnipresent , almost a cocoa powder finish with the drying tannins. The mid palate is slightly hollow and lacks a bit of charm. This is a big wine though the acidity is balancing I'm not sure those tannins will ever be resolved. It doesn't come as 'new world' you would think it could be a left bank Bordeaux , a St Estephe perhaps, though the sweeter tannins and slightly alcoholic kick give away another origin. Coming back to this , I think there will probably be limited upside , the wine appear too hollow to really improve. So drink now and over the next 3 years . — 7 years ago
Very good relatively light bodied wine. Black pepper, light tart cherry. Versatile. — 8 years ago
Pisano Pinot Noir from Uruguay. Wow what a pleasant surprise — 9 years ago
The rosé gets its body from Cabernet Franc rounded by Syrah. A hint of acid on the tongue. Good for aperitif, salads, tapas. Tomato based pastas should match. — 9 years ago
Well balanced & fine balance but fading fruit and colour. Drink now or yesterday — 4 years ago
Dark, heavy tannins.
Ripe fruit
Wonderful example of the grape — 6 years ago
Star bright, near water clear straw gold. A bit of “stank” on the bosomy nose, that blows off to reveal lemon, citrus rind, and hay. Echoed on the palate with the lemon asserting itself more prominently back palate. Bright (medium) acidity. Medium full body (without obvious malolactic). Baked quince somehow managed to sneak into the finish. I’m enjoying mine with a rich fruit and cheese plate. Enjoy yours with same, or with white flesh fish, poultry with cream sauce, or salad greens with diverse veggies and nuts. — 6 years ago

Great expression of the classic Tannat Merlot blend from Pisano in Uruguay. Great black fruit but not too much lighter than you'd expect for a Tannat. Really enjoyable. — 9 years ago
