Complex with that distinct oaky big red flavour I enjoy — 10 years ago
This shit is cool. a) has a pink glass cork b) a color pink I normally reject in flowers or wines c) Austrian rosé d) slightly fizzy when you pop it #bangbang #winesathome certified would bang again. — 10 years ago
Utsökt. Choklad, salmiak, örtigt. Balanserat och mjukt, men det stannar kvar i flabben. — 10 years ago
Everything I want in a summer red, hence the high rating. No pretension. Focused berry fruit, minerality, violet petal. Enjoyed it after 10 minutes in the fridge. Great value as well. — 11 years ago
Best 30€ i have ever spend!! ❤️Nebbiolo!!! — 12 years ago
M: Wow, this is interesting. At first I got crab apple with a rose petal finish. After 1.5 minutes of respiration (by the wine), the rose petal has been replaced by maple, but with a slight cayenne kick. I gotta agree with the guy who compared this to an indie rock band. Exciting in that "I know something everybody else doesn't" kinda way.
D: Tastes like a cheery tootsie pop with spice, but only after it has time to breathe. Interesting. Solid 9.0 score. — 10 years ago
Reliable good value. Hard to find, though. I get at Lisbon in Newark's Ironbound. — 10 years ago
Old World to it's core. It's got everything that you expect from a quality Barbera, the leather and the acidity. After opening up, you'll get the aroma of dark fruits and spice. I love the rustic aspect of this wine, it's exactly what I wanted from this bottle. It's got the leather, tight acidity, and fresh berries that you want. A nice, long finish caps this baby off. — 10 years ago
Soft tannin, medium body with classic cherry and plum notes w a hint of vanilla. Indeed very elegant - I like! Goes perfectly w the sweet cherries I picked up at the farmers market today :D — 10 years ago
Pleasant sipper with medium acidity and an undertaste of salinity typical of Assyrtikos. It was a bit disjointed until later on the second day. I think I had liked the 2012 much better last summer. — 11 years ago
Brown apple, honeyed and wax. Ready to drink; 1/2 bottle well stored & still great acidity but has started the electric s-l-i-d-e — 11 years ago
Celebrating the season. DH and I aren't sold on this offering from B-C. Enjoyable? Yes. Memorable? No. — 12 years ago
Delicate right off the bat -- I mean this is a bottle that, based on harvesting seasons, is older than one of the people who drank it... So our sommelier had to Ah-so it open and decant due to sediment but the resulting #wine was clean and clear... But that was just the start.
The beauty of this wine is that it started off highlighting the obvious things -- some ripe fruit and some earth, not quite integrated but just you wait, just you wait... And we did... We hung out with this wine for 2 hours and I swear, every 20 mins or so we found ourselves discovering a new element in the glass.
The moderate plus acidity suddenly blended in well with the fruit that resembled a creamy raspberry and strawberry texture that combined with a chalkiness of a forest floor covered in dried leaves and rocks.
It kept going...at times bumping up the pepper and then shrinking back into a light, rose petal-y drinker that made me happy. Needless to say, this thing ended pairing well with anything we had -- duck, charred octopus w molé (especially this), a funky version of spaghetti carbonara. Its age gave it versatility that it never realized it had.
Overall it's like a Grenache-based blend that managed to not only settle in and play well with its friends but also unexpectedly invited new kids to join in but only for a few minutes until they had to go back home. — 10 years ago
I think this wine is all about the nose. Beautiful nose with leather and some pepper, but falling apart once on the palate. A cool wine for the value and vintage. — 10 years ago
Cherry Ricola, Fireballs, crushed flowers, incense, ash and dusty finish ~ not for everyone but I D!G it — 11 years ago
Weekend toscano. :-D Con i peperoni ripieni fa il suo mestiere...sgrassa bene. :-P Un Bolgheri rosso da tenere in cantina. — 11 years ago

Nice. Medium plus body bordering on full. A titch tannic but i probably should have decanted it longer. Great black fruit. Had with beef tenderloin and lobster — 9 years ago
