This is stunning. Tart cherries with a touch of nutmeg. Deeply oxidized but well balanced with its acidity and oaky tannins. Caramel coming through as the initial carbonation subsides. Closest comparison is Cuvée Freddy, and while that beer is great, this is better. Ready to drink right after pouring, and I suspect it will improve with some time and warming. — 7 years ago
Definitely a repeater. Smooth, very drinkable, multiple levels. Excellent! — 8 years ago

Solid, but fell a bit flat compared to the Nightmare on Brett aged in Port barrels. This was Batch 5 from June 2015. — 9 years ago
On our sofa for Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor Juanjo Mena is leading BRITTEN (Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes), MOZART (Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat) with the talented Garrick Ohlsson on piano and then concluding with BRAHMS (Symphony No. 3).
We're experiencing intense thunderstorms coming through the area tonight and generally the BSO staff prevents people from gathering on the Lawn ever since a patron was struck by lightning in 2008... So for safety, we're at home enjoying beer tonight! Thank goodness for radio simulcasts!
Color is red-purple-brown, still translucent but dark. Mostly a still beer, no notable bubbles at all. Sour/cherry/oak aspects on the nose. Palate is mild-sour, which is good if you're new at these styles of beer, it's more welcoming. Palate is distinctly tart cherry, with a lingering of oak in the finish. Nice accomplishment by the brewmaster in blending of barrel-aged stocks, smooth and enjoyable! — 7 years ago

Crooked Vine is my second favorite Cab. It's been a while since I had a bottle, but it is a nice complex Cab. — 9 years ago
Hoppy with a nice finish, has that signature Dark Horse taste. Smooth. — 9 years ago
May 2015 Batch 4 - dark sour ale aged in red wine barrels. Perfectly balanced sour with mouth coating combo of cherry, spice and a hint of wood. — 9 years ago
Toasted notes of caramel and space are intermingled with deep dark fruit flavors. — 7 years ago
Wow. Fresh.
The nose has layers of disciplined fruit.
Nothing crazy, very textbook good.
Bright. IlLuminated salted berries, persimmon, ripe, yet not to much, plum, hints of melon. Perfect acidity to stave (Ha!) off the oak.
This is an amazing BDX blend, and so worth the price.
No candied over cloying here.
This is a good expression.

Super concentrated Cab from DelDotto's St. Helena vineyard. Modest on the nose with vanilla and smoke. Dense and rich palate of black fruits, jam, and chocolate. 60 second, almost gritty finish. Drinking great now and will hang for a good bit. Intense, but less decadent (in a good way) from more recent vintages. — 8 years ago
2014 vintage. Burgundian in the barnyard category, balanced with the blueberry fruit. Intoxicating nose like a burgundy and fared well with dry aged steak. Wow. — 9 years ago
One of my go to Jammy Zins. For the price point a great wine. — 9 years ago
Bold maneuver by Joe Swick of co-fermenting Pinot Gris & Noir results in a pleasurable puzzle of a wine, like listening to Ornette Coleman get rid of chord changes, this wines interacts w perceptions at a radical pace. The Pinot Gris actually supplies more tannic chew that buzzes on the palate while the Noir presents a folk melody structure to wrap your mind around. The collision is rather haunting, and I can't wait to understand how it goes with food in surprising ways. I'm gonna glass this sucker at Americano! — 9 years ago

Dark cherry and spice make for a lovely inhale.
Black fruits, Pom pith, prune, black pepper, strong and strapping finish stave.
Long finish, needs a couple of years for that new oak to truly smooth out.
