Blackest pour, with a milk chocolate colored icing, thick, thorny lacing on an arabica slide. Cosmic paw prints. The coffee aromas ore omniscient. There is a slight licorice note and buckwheat/ barley-ness. The malt is adding a mocha element, as well as a toasted vanilla wafer. Impressive depth, real coffee mouthfeel here, the beer texture just adds to it. Nothing wimpy about this delivery. Allspice and dark chocolate accent the premium coffee here, and it is extraordinary! Get a sip while it still has a head. Enlightened brewing here! .

Great record from Bob Lind. Country/folk rock from 1971 with an all-star backing band featuring Dillard & Clark among others. If Cosmic American music is your thing, this one’s for you. It is stupid humid in Seattle today, so a bottle of Mr. Pink Rose was in order. This wine is a crazy value at sub $15 and I look forward to crushing many bottles this summer. — 7 years ago

Opaque tangerine color that reddens toward the white with pink-y hinted top. Quick, cosmic dissipation. Lacing in sheets with buttons. Tangerine was spot on in the citrus aromatics, also peach, lemon, lime, ruby grapefruit and luxardo cherry. Really pleasant and clean, zesty mouthfeel. Metallic orange, pithy grapefruit, lime zest, lemon zest, white pepper sensation, poppyseeds, saline sunflower shell, and lemon pith. Citrus is racy and real in this session hazy. Thought I already rated this one, but...drinking. A hazy lil number with a fluffy quilt on top sewn from grapefruit pith. Bright, fresh, tangerine and grapefruit nose, with candied grapefruit peel, lime kefir, and zippy lime zest. Smells like summer! Citrus tangy on the palate as well, with ruby grapefruit deconstruction separating peel from pulp and pith, and cosmic zest shimmering like stardust. Quince, lime slices, lemon with a touch of sugar, dried orange, dried mango, white pepper and edible flower or snap pea, green banana turn to clean fruit married to a bitter finish. Really great beer, with acids calling out salivary catalysts, for a mouth coating, lip smacking interplay. This has such an elegant balance, it seems like something squeezed straight out of the jungle. .

The bouquet is fresh and very floral. The color is a vibrant ruby red with an immediate taste of tart red raspberries. A full zing, medium tannins, along with a silky and smooth finish. Yellow watermelon orange, border of opacity. Loose, bright, white foam. Suddenly enough, none, but fast and oily brain grooves and amorphous blob-people trace out the forlorn and droopy lacings. Cheer up! The nose is full of concentrated tangerine zest, with look-alive lime, and lemon scented sunshine glinting off of shattered space debris. There is something so ‘dessicated lemon’ here, with a lambic-balsam edge, but also gasoline and lemongrass-white pepper. Anomalistic. Tasty sour pear, grapefruit, and funky golden plum all burst in sour unison, leaving pineapple to prickle amidst the pieces, and apricot shows ripely, timely and dedicatedly sweet, perhaps even slightly dried. Really amazing and complex, seamless without becoming divergent or clunky. Ebon and inscrutable, lacing showing creamy curtain to cosmic shatter; coffee ice cream colored. Moist, rum raisin cake baking alongside Black Forest cake with walnuts. Heavy lavender in a rough cut oak crate, makes this smell really beautiful. Vanilla and caramel chocolates entice. Bakers dark unsweetened chocolate, tastes of aniseed, clove, nutmeg, peppercorn; the whole toasty barrel. Burnt fig, cinnamon, espresso bean, with a clear charred oak concealing allspice and malt, in line with its working spirit. Impressive beer, evoking coal and tar pits with its smoky, austere reimagining of dark vulcan arts. Not a sweet one, but fiery and thick on the edges of the cauldron. — 6 years ago
