Paloma is definitely a benchmark for Napa Merlot and this '07 was a ringing endorsement of that. Rich black fruit, plenty of smooth tannins hanging around and it kicked ass with the deep fried ham we were cooking up. — 11 years ago

I get cumin on the nose, but maybe that's the roast in cooking in the kitchen coming in to play. Warm integrated tannins with strong but not over powering oak. Wonderful black fruit on the round finish. — 12 years ago

I'm realizing that I like the '05 Cubillo I had a couple of weeks ago a bit better. It was weightier and balanced, in a way that this is not. I wonder if this particular bottle is starting to fall apart?
