Quite the baby since it's not even released yet, but has plenty of potential. From 40+ year-old vines from Todd Bros Ranch in red volcanic soils, just bottled last month after 18 in French barriques. Minerality of the soil jumps out of the glass right away, but needs air to let the fruit and tannin really come into play. — 10 years ago
Nice and balanced wine with medium high alcohol 13% abv. Herbaceous notes with lime skin notes, grassy character and some buttery, oaky aromas going stronger with temperature rising. 50% fermentation in barriques. Quite complex and interesting wine, not your average Sancerre. — 11 years ago
While overlooking zebras in stellenbosch. 28 yr old vineyard. 100% wooded in second and third fill barriques. Flagship white from remhoogte estate — 11 years ago
Good balance between salty and acidity notes, this #Lugana ages in old barriques that you barely noticed. Awesome! — 12 years ago
Smooth. Light tannins. — 9 years ago
Very smooth. Easy drink. Great for entertaining. — 10 years ago
Blackberry & blueberry jam, white pepper, vanilla, a little smoke, & hint of bacon. Good acid, tannin & fruit. Balanced. — 10 years ago
Lovely older Grenache, this saw barriques (I think?) so is more rounded than the two 1989 CdPs we drank it with (Pegau and Les Cailloux), nice juice. — 11 years ago
Vintage 2012 aged 6 month in barriques and 6 month in oak barrels (2500 lt) excellent with steaks , beef , pasta . 14%vol warm , full body and elefant — 11 years ago
Lugana Superiore DOC 2010, 13%.
Bottle tasted in June 2014. Wine made with Trebbiano grapes, aged in steel and in French barriques. Elegant nose, rich of ripe peach. Very satisfying in the mouth, full, great body, and nice hints of hazelnut. Can't wait to drink it again! — 11 years ago
Excellent value, lots of depth, mix of syrah and mourvedre is really nice. — 13 years ago
Amazing cab, super French with a strong red finish and although not much nose to it, it definitely is complex and is a superb heavy food wine like BBQ or Italian pasta! Love this wine!! — 9 years ago
Intense body for an intense wine. Wonderful dark ruby with garnet shades. Intense note of wood (barriques, 50% new), a great leather and tobacco over riped red fruits. A note of under spirit black cherries in the mouth with silky tannins. Perfect acidity (from Sangiovese) to pair a good "ossobuco". 14,5% alcohol but only a few hint of it in the nose. Should be refined in the cellar but it's already a good wine. Ah, a wonderful place to visit, too, with its impressive "barriques arena" by Renzo Piano. — 10 years ago
A 1990 super Toscana that matured beautifully over the last 25 years....
This blend of CS and Sangiovese is at its peak, balanced elegant and refined.
It has a deep red with a touch of braun color, the nose is full of black fruits, cherries, cooked plums, tobacco, coffee, leather, the wine is full bodied, with rounded yet chewy tannins, great acidity and a long rich elegant finish.
Lovely wine!! My score 91, drink now! — 11 years ago
Mushroom, fig, slight brown paper bag on the nose, which is soft and subtle. Fresh fig, Reiner cherry and a smattering of herbs linger on the palate. Body is medium plus as is the acidity, which for me, is why this wine is shining so bright in 2015. I'd gladly invite this wine into my home again. 12.5%. — 11 years ago
Maremma Toscana IGT 2008, 14,5%. Made with Alicante grapes, magnum bottle tasted in July 2014. Aged for 16 months in French oak barriques. This is the best alicante I've tasted in a long time: complex and elegant nose. Incredibly rich and smooth in the mouth, velvety and long lasting. I loved it! — 11 years ago
Not an expert, but I'd have to guess barriques were involved for this wine to be both as mild-mannered and oaky as it was. Not a bad thing, just not what I expected — 12 years ago
$10 at barriques. Amazing drink. Medium bodied - plenty of fruit and length — 13 years ago

Very dense ruby. Pronounced aroma. 1st nose of blackcurrant jam, wood followed by earth, spices, grass. Fresh & bit of flowers. Development w/ black fruits, pencil shavings & black lead. Blend: ~70% CabS. Vibrant rich full-bodied palate supporting the nose. Lively tannins, good acidity. Still looks young in 9 yrs age but can drink now. 2nd label of 2nd growth Château Ducru Beaucaillou from separate & distinct vineyard. Blended during 1st racking. Matured for 12 mo in 20-40% of new barriques. Rating 4,1/5 — 9 years ago
