Buen cava semi Sec bueno para armonizar con postres — 6 years ago
Artesa (ahr TESS uh) means "craftsman" and connotes "handcrafted" in Catalan, language of Barcelona and their owner, Codorníu, one of the world's largest and oldest wineries. Ruby with sweet berry fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate cranberry and cherry flavors with spice. Fine savory tannins medium finish ending with mineral notes, nice value. — 7 years ago
Great for a cheap sparkling — 7 years ago
Codorníu was founded in 1551 in Catalonia. They are the world's oldest and second largest producer of bottle-fermented sparkling wine. Enjoyable and balanced sparkler that brings plenty of cherry, almond, and yeast, but also offers an unexpected menthol note (think mint oil, not Kools) that gives this a unique edge. — 7 years ago
Crisp, and refreshing off dry cava with just a hint of sweetness. — 8 years ago
Founded in 1986 by Josep-Maria Raventos, member of the Codorníu family, creating a small, quality-oriented winery standing apart from the large co-ops. A blend of 40% Xarel-lo, 36% Macabeu, 18% Parellada, 6% Monastrell. Red berry and floral aromas with fine bubbles. On the palate strawberry and cherry with mineral yeasty notes on the lingering finish, good balance. Hand harvested and secondary fermentation rests for 15 months before disgorgement. A nice bargain. Un cava excelente, un chardonnay no es fácil en cava, pero me ha gustado, queda un poco por detrás del Pinot Noir pero está muy bueno.

Green apple followed by Smarties and Nilla Wafers. This is a weird yet glorious mix of the flavors my youth. My new favorite bubbly transports me to a time of running barefoot through freshly mowed grass, doing cartwheels, and playing with fireflies. This trip down memory lane has scored big points with me. — 7 years ago

First had this at the winery in Catalonia and now am obsessed with Cavas. More full flavor then typical Bruts — 8 years ago
Curious when it was disgorged-- picked up at Licores Cabello. Tasty! Nothing crazy but really tasty. Great roundness and cream perfectly balanced with solid yellow apple and pear acidity.

Fantastic, dry almost Limey mid, with some perfume, but the body is full and the finish solid. — 7 years ago

Rhonely Boy
50% XareL-Lo, 40% Macabeo, 10% Parellada
Spain, Barcelona - Conca del Riu Anoia (Not Cava, working on unique DO since 2012)
Clear, lighter side of medium gold, steady stream of bubbles.
Clean, lite autolytic character, medium mineral, could develop further
Dry, medium acidity, sleek body, light autolytic notes before notes of saline mineral, even dispersion of delicate bubbles on palette.
Medium+ finish
Good on its own, better with food, more pronounced acidity saline and autolytic notes with food. bubble basically gone in last pour (1.5 hours). Very much welcomed at my table, very happy.
Old vines in Goblet system from 1964.
Vineyard is an ancient sea bed with fossilized sea shells from way back in the day. Land has been vineyard, and a family estate since 1497 (Raventós and eventually +Codorníu) 1986 Manuel Raventós i Blanc produced the first estate cava.... lots of history, and Biodynamic to boot! — 5 years ago
