Candy like wine an amazingly smooth wine with a perfect balance of fruit. — 6 years ago
Fantastic! Cloudy rich golden hue, mildly sweet but the main palette presence is honeysuckle and lime. — 7 years ago
Fresh and heady floral notes from whole cluster. Red and black berries. Muted spices and earth. Good structure, smooth tannins. — 7 years ago
Slight hint of reduction that faded with 30 mins. Darker fruit profile than expected, considering the light color and low alcohol. 12.5%. well crafted, well balanced. Great value — 8 years ago
Complex. sweet ripen black fruits (overripen?) and greenish aroma from whole cluster fermentation create seductive aroma. dry, mid acidity, silky texture. powerful beauty. Distinctive style from acidity driven cool climate PN.ABV13.6% — 9 years ago
In a micro world where Sonoma Coast Pinot can be anything from overripe candy to verging on watery, Royal St. Robert kind of nails it. Carlo has put together a bulls-eye blend of earth and fruit, herbs, and texture. It shows restraint but it isn't diluted.
The nose has all sorts of fresh red berries tossed in a basket with foraged dirty wild mushrooms and minty herbs. There is body. Plenty of acid too. Flavors of raspberry, rosemary, mint, leather, and cinnamon. Whole cluster, plush, with a little bit of stemmy pushback.
Of the many faces of Cali Pinot, this one one of my favorites. — 4 years ago
Great stuff. 2012 vintage. Violets, lilacs, some savory notes of grilled meat. Really good acidity keeps this bright and balances the weight of the dark fruit. Tannins give it good finish — 7 years ago
Impromptu meet up at Classic!
Know nothing of this producer. Whoa...whole cluster here? Spicy, crunchy and bramble driven. Very Sta Rita Hills. Rhubarb and cedar smoked nose. The palate is less complex than I expected based on the nose, but it’s still floral with an added cranberry sauce finish. — 8 years ago

Rose. Pineapple. Peach. Lovely stuff. — 5 years ago
The whole cluster treatment shines in this big-styled PN. That said, very elegantly made — 6 years ago
Soft and dry, strawberry and hints of tobacco leaf. Low acidity, eminently drinkable. — 7 years ago
Wonderful wine with mussels in a white wine sauce. — 8 years ago
Day one: Shy on the nose, with some floral elements (roses and violets). Day two: Bright, ripping whole-cluster aromatics! Laser beams of cranberry and herbs on the mid palate, beautiful finish without so much as a shadow of oak. This is pure, no-frills Burgundy fruit without compromise at the humble Bourgogne level. $27 Bottle Barn price- incredible value. Will drink well for easily another 5-7 years. Great play for your $- a modest price of admission for a relatively serious wine. — 8 years ago
