#theoldmanswine. Really nice showing. Truthfully this was in contention for wine of the night. (For me anyway). Part of a flight of 93s because hey 93, but they all didnt really gel for me the way they should have. — 8 years ago
For my 1300th review, here on Delectable, No introduction needed...
Intense dark Inky/ purple in color with a purple rim.
Gorgeous nose of red vanilla, oak, (and more oak and vanilla), blackberries, black currants, plums, sweet cherries, figs, chocolates, raisins, light cloves, pencil lead, licorice, leather, spices and black pepper.
Full-bodied and bold, smooth and elegant, with medium plus acidity and gorgeous legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, figs, cherries, black currants, leather, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins, spices and black pepper.
What a great pleasure I had with this Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Smooth, concentrated, balanced and chewy on the palate, with a great mouth feel.
I didn't have the luxury to let it open up enough, and that's too bad. Needed 3 hours, and I had only an hour (It was devoured very quickly... )
Still young, and not to its full potential yet, but drinking so well already, just by itself or with a big piece of steak. I paired it with lamb chops on the grill.
A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec, 2% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 24 months in 100% French oak barrels.

Intricate and exciting. Best bourbon out there — 9 years ago
Can't remember having this before, but I'm super impressed. Some pine needles. A tad hot but young. I really need to study France and Bordeaux wines more. The country has always taken a back seat to Italy and Spain for me, so maybe starting today things change?

Barrel Sample, what a wine! This will be a great buy in 2016 Bordeaux. Don't miss it! 93-95pts — 8 years ago
Magnum. Initially a 93 rating and then falls apart after 1.5 hours and becomes an 89. Lovely, classic , delicate, herbal Bordeaux. Rich and balanced initially and then declines rapidly. Very sad. — 9 years ago

Suckling says 93. It’s not. Good though. Dry. Nice earth/fruit balance. — 7 years ago

Stanislav Lobanov
— 7 years ago
