Climbing wednesdays with Dom, with a Caribbean goat curry!! One of my most favourites to date, dark inky look with a rich taste! — 6 years ago
High toned nose with a bouquet of violets and rose, dried cranberry, nutmeg, and a touch of menthol. Fresh and youthful on the palate, with blackcherry and crushed plum. Secondary notes of chalk too. Vibrant acidity leads to dry tannins with an enjoyable finish. Always a great QPR, although the prices seems to be climbing a bit. — 7 years ago
This bottle shows a really bright side today. Close to no funk upon opening : a bright violet, some red and black forest fruits, a bit of red pepper, iron, black pepper too. The palate is well balanced with a strong acid backbone and black and red forest fruits on the sides. A bit of tannins in the rear for a kick before a closing with fruits and some nice bitterness. The finish gives an impression of climbing back on the palate, this is quite a physical experience, it litteraly comes back up.
Edit : it gets 0,1 point more because I haven't tasted it in this state and form for a very long time. Gotta love it! — 7 years ago

Flavors climbing out of the glass - white peach, lychee, pear, apple blossom and straw. Palate is round and layers of juicy. Finishes with a refreshing bitter note of salinity and peach pit. Conclusion - there is not enough Rueda in my life. — 9 years ago

Wow,! Old world Spain is climbing out of this glass. Sharing at Grace restaurant with friends and family. Tomato, earthy nose, spicy complex long finifsh — 7 years ago
Fantastic wine. Just crazy good for price point, and a special angle on Nebbiolo. Apparently the grapes grow on such a steep hill the pickers need mountain climbing skills to get them. — 7 years ago

Dark scarlet tawny color. Exotic nose. Notes of black cherry, sweet plums, menthol, dark soil, some anise and some white pepper. Rich and silky in the mouth. Still young and climbing it’s mountain. Pretty good today and will easily improve with more age. — 5 years ago
Boar goulash with dumplings, no climbing this week but with a nice dry wine. Good with a stew! — 6 years ago
Very nice wine after climbing with Dom — 6 years ago

Delicious and refreshing after a day of climbing with Amanda P. — pairing with Nettle soup and Basil Pesto Cod — 7 years ago
This may go down as red wine of the year for me. Which given the time of year and upcoming events is High Praise indeed. But none the less reality. Epic nose. The unmistakable smell of a slaughterhouse over summer. Meat and blood. A huge hit of licorice, leather, and smoke and cherries. The Finish lasted nearly a minute, and had a Mossy granite tone to it that reminded me of climbing in the gunks in the fog. Amazing. So fortunate to have been asked to share this with great friends. #poolwine — 8 years ago
Vintage 2014 - 50% cabernet franc, also cab sauvignon, cot and merlot. A great effort: making a very nice red wine in Muscadet country! The wine got 8 months barriques, bio wine with certificate. Smells if you are climbing in a cherries tree while the fruit is ripe And you are harvesting them. Berries also, very vivid, great balance, drinks like lemonade (positive). — 10 years ago

2003 vintage. "Spongy" cork so used the Durand. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes, 1.5 hrs, 2.5 hrs and 4.5 hrs. Some sed but not too much. Heavy body. Massive structure and fruit to carry the 15.8% ABV along. Ridiculously concentrated. Will likely take this effort another 12-15 more years to noticeably "thin out" even slightly. It's that bigg. Don't feel that it is still climbing the charts but, with tonight's effort, proving it can stay top of the pops indefinitely. With all that said, the passage of time finds this 2003 in better balance than some 2010+ SQN red efforts. 2.15.24. — 2 years ago
