In magnum..luv the foil cap..."it goes to eleven". 1 hour decant (little sediment). A transfixing inky red color. On the nose: blue fruit, floral, cassis, black fruit. Taste: BlackBerry, graphite, minerals, smoke..semi firm tannins and a plush mouthfeel lead to a med- long finish...has more time to go. Founded by Donn and Molly Chappelet in 1967 on renowned Pritchard Hill. A blend of 79% Cab Sauv, 12% Petit Verdot & 9% Malbec. Deep Ruby with purple edges, aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar, cacao and sweet herbs. On the palate rich flavors of blackberry and currants with sweet oak and herbs with a great mouthfeel. Soft fine tannins, long ending with fruit and sweet oak. Will improve but great now! — 6 years ago

Founded 1972, Tom & Sally Jordan, from CO, went to CA’s wine country & produced inaugural vintage in 1976. A Fav of mine with a steak, and the ‘14 is big! Had the ‘14 over a year ago, it’s Wow Now! Blend of 79% Cab Sauv, 13.7% Merlot, 5.8% Petit Verdot, 1.2% Malbec & 0.3% Cab Franc. Deep Ruby red with aromas of red fruit & perfume spice. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry & blackberry with oak, sweet spice, leather & cacao notes. Rich tannins, well balanced and integrated with fruit & oak. Very Nice! — 7 years ago

I don't want to write a Facebook story but I need to get something off my chest - today was supposed to be about running my first 10k which I did and did my best - but today became much more - I lost my mom Friday in a car wreck - yes it was tragic for she was 79 years young - but she was an incredible mom - strong caring and always a big part of my growing up and values I have - I will miss her - all that said I dedicated the 10k race I ran to my mom - and I celebrate this wine and the next wine to her and the wonderful legacy (our family) she help create - rest in peace mom and thanks for the support from @Ron R @Martin G Rivard @David A Lentine @Joe Lucca and @Carl Fischer - by the wine was a wonderful tribute and had all four elements working correctly together - smell, taste, finish and balance — 10 years ago
