Jam city. Blackberry jam and sweet spices. Medium plus acidity body, and tannins. Super hot at 14.78%. Woo. — 9 years ago
Really like the restraint, nuance, and elegance of this wine, and also the quality for the price. Great vintage! Warm gentle spice, pie cherry, great balance on the palate. — 10 years ago
Sweet, damn it went well with dessert — 10 years ago
Right up there with kbs, abyss, barrel aged bomb! — 10 years ago
A near perfect rosé at a great price. I prefer this soft fruit tempered by a light floral note all properly and proportionately positioned against a mineral intensive rocky bottom as swift waters twist and turn their way downstream leaving one's palate clean and refreshed but laced with the memory of the moment😎🌀 - buy the magnum at my favorite local Morehead City, NC hang - Promise Land Market (thx sweet Janeen and Daniel for spinning some crazy sweet tunage!)! Find this place in all its realness, and drink this wine! — 11 years ago
First bottle of wine, long weekend in Pacific City, OR.
Great wine, good spice — 11 years ago
Reddish purple in the glass with aromas of cinnamon, cola nut and strawberries. Fresh and juicy with great acidity; the front palate hits with black cherry, tart cranberry and more baking spices. The mid palate carries some woody, earthy notes that finish with black tea, porcini mushrooms and fine grained, silky tannins. — 12 years ago
Need a Leo at your party? Looking for that gal who can charm the pants off a discerning group of hopeless wanderers? This is your gal. She's a people pleaser with a penchant for citrus and lemongrass. This is the city gal of summer wines. Crisp, refreshing and a pallet pleaser. Allegedly loves seafood (this according to match.com). — 12 years ago
Def one of my favs. Always have it in the fridge. It was my cherry popper. 👍🏿 — 9 years ago
so, this was rated on a curve. stored in a fridge in another city. fridge died in summer and it was weeks before i found it. it was baked. and then it was weirdly ok. just used it to explain to @captain henrik how get wine out of a bottle with a coravin (merry xmas, cap'n!) expecting it to be destroyed. lo and behold. second wine from that lot which wasn't ruined. the OTHER, miraculously, was the bernaudeau "sans souffre" which I'll never understand why it was ok. maybe there are wine elves sticking ice in the dead fridge until I found it.... god jul!! — 10 years ago
Top notch any times — 10 years ago
Really enjoyed this bottle of wine. Went well with the cheese and crackers we were snacking on. Would buy it again. — 11 years ago
Finally, a decent session ale! A very straightforward and clean bitter hops only lacking the malt backbone of a similar full throttle brew. But hey, if you are looking for taste with almost half the alcohol, this is a great solution. — 11 years ago
Toffee, rich bitter notes of dark roasted coffee....high acid malty. 6oz is enough — 11 years ago
Red cherry, sandalwood, still a bit of tannin in the finish. Fabulous with red sauce pizza and @mrharada. At Vesta in Redwood City — 12 years ago
Great night in a new city with great company. Lots of pepper. Went well with my first experience with bone marrow. — 12 years ago
A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 12 years ago
Easy to drink, definitely can taste the hints of strawberries and 14.4% alcohol 👌🏼 — 9 years ago
The pepper adds a wonderful layer of complexity, it's a slow heat the builds in the back of the palate — 10 years ago
Is this too.much? Vanilla boxing glove that smashes your face and leaves you guessing. But you feel all the rubber vanilla you could do without, but you need to snake out an idea of this tamari, oyster sauce and tar welcome, expressing espresso, and wiry ham and smoky granite. Dark and dirty, it hits home in a nasty way. — 10 years ago
Wine coming out of the city of Vienna proper always blows my mind. Smoky, great texture, 9 variety blend. Crazy stuff. — 11 years ago
Big bacon nose with floral honey front mouth affect quickly going mineral for a clean but lingering finish of flowers & white grapes. Enjoying this fine yet affordable wine with manchego and niçoise-coquillo olives, at PromiseLand Market, in Morehead City, NC... — 12 years ago
Reminds me of a Mountain Bike ride during the fall in Park City. Decaying Forrest floor, dried leaves, lavender, violets. Red and blue fruits, allspice, beautiful (yet) heavy integration of oak, persistent finish. Best wine I've tasted this year (Feb 21, '14) — 12 years ago
Lovely trip to AmByth this weekend. All of their 2012 wines are already so expressive (and still fermenting in amphorae). Can't wait to try these wines when they are ready! I'll be pouring their 2010 Syrah and 2011 Red Table Blend this Friday at K&L in Redwood City. — 13 years ago

Nailed the balance of wheat, spice, yeast. Very crisp without feeling hopped up. — 9 years ago
