This afternoon/evening was our first of two baby showers. Not only were we surrounded by friends & family, but we were also surrounded by some good wine & other drinks. This was one of the selections at our whisk(e)y & cigar bar.

Last time I had this was back at university - was nice to circle back on it so many years later. — 7 years ago

Almost white in color with lots of pear and apple on the nose. Also subtle hints of cranberries. Not as sweet as I was expecting, which was nice, but not overly complex either. Honeysuckle, melon, and green apple dominate the body. Medium to long finish. Excellent QPR! — 8 years ago
Classic Finger lakes Riesling. Crisp and slightly sweet. Very drinkable. Great price. — 8 years ago
Whenever I'm back in London I try to pay a visit to Franco Manca for a dose of heaven manifest as pizza. For all the discernment of ingredients going into each mana-circle, it baffles me that the wines served as so appalling. Therefore I brought my own, discombobulating two waitresses in the process. Try the house wine to lift any confusion as to why I would BMOB. Querciabella's Chianti Classico is a consistent stunner for the price. Good depth and texture, it is a red fruit driven delight that held its own next to Franco's divine pizza. — 8 years ago
Exceptionally balanced -- full body, soft tannins, big but not juicy. From Columbus Circle Wines (Bob) — 6 years ago
Surprising. The creamy, buttery mouth feel with pineapple and apricot leads you to expect a simple Chardonnay blend, but the layers go deep. In comes the Viognier with vanilla, then a lightly acidic finish with just enough toasty oak to bring you full circle. Except there are subtleties in between. Nice work. — 7 years ago

Good with rare steak. Me like. — 7 years ago
2009 vintage. Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with a little bit of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Serious juice from serious vineyards in Napa Valley (the lower slopes of Coombsville, Sugarloaf Mountain and Circle S, the latter one of the highest parts in the Napa Valley). Cassis, cedarwood, licorice and lead pencil, reminiscent of Pauillac. Concentrated, ripe black fruit, but not jammy. Powerful tannic structure and good acidity. Long finish with licorice and a distinctive minerality. Maltus obviously doesn't go for the easy commercial jammy style. Incredible Napa Valley value at 30 euro! Perfectly integrated 14,8% abv. — 7 years ago

Delicious - dark fruits, liquorice, leather, a rich wine, but not heavy in tannins. — 6 years ago
I just finished reading a wine spectator article about California sparklers and the praise for the 2010 offering. After a bunk half bottle of 2014 Blanc de Blanc at Bourbon & Bubbles, this sucker saved the day. Best offering I’ve had from Schramsberg in as long as I can remember.
$136 Riddler’s Circle Club shipment
The 2011 J. Schram Rosé immediately pleases the eye with its copper tinged, pale salmon color. It opens with aromas of cherry and peach cobbler, balanced by aspects of baked pineapple, apricot, marzipan and roasted pear. layers of candied citrus, lemon meringue and nectarine suffuse the pallet, with honey and brown sugar adding additional complexity. Rich, fruitful and closing with a tangy long finish, this wine is truly a feast for the senses.

Continuing with the Langtons Classification tasting of the Best Australian Wines in the Outstanding Category. This Woodlands Cuvée always named after a Family member is their best expression of Cabernet. I have been buying 6 bottles every year since 2007. In the Wilyabrup dress circle over the road from Moss Wood and close to Cullen and Vasse Felix. Always one of the best in Margaret River. Just noticed @Delect Able that the 2010 is Heather Jean not ShelleyAnne. — 7 years ago
Good nose, medium-body, strawberry, nice finish.

Picked this up at the cellar door around 7 years ago from the excellent 2009 vintage. A great combination of cassis and black currant together with Margaret River herbaceousness. Great QPR at $40 and in the dress circle Wilyabrup area. — 6 years ago
