First time trying Domenico Clerico. Definitely can see how this leans a bit to the more powerful side but can’t argue with the quality and depth. Lots of balsamic, tar, and flowers. Great acid and tannins are still present but in check. Long finish. Fun one to try. — 5 months ago

Nice, classical Barolo with light, brick red color and a ethereal, aromatic nose with fresh, tart cherries, fading violets and a whiff of undergrowth. On the palate quite light with juicy acidity and the unmistakable tannic grip.

Compared to the Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra this still had plenty going on and I think would have gotten better with more time. Some berries and tar stood out but busy evening.

Love opening a bottle with no expectation and having hit your sweet spot.
unbelievably soft tannins. Velvet mouth feels. Touch of oak against tobacco / leather with enough fruit and just a kiss of sweetness to keep it from being overly earthy.
