Les dégustations me manquent…. Alors seul à la maison avec Laurence on se fait une petite dégustation à l’aveugle de 4 bourgognes village
2017.

Couleur translucide ici aussi. Au nez ressemble assez au Roumier mais avec plus de fraicheur avec des notes de cerises et fraises, me faisant penser à une sorte de bonbon et aussi de la rose. L’acidité
est bien dosée et le vin a une bonne longueur.

This started off as unassuming and maybe slightly reticent. After 1-2 hours, the nose gave away incense, which is an aromatic quality I adore from Bizot. Dare say the nose beat out the Roumier, Rousseau, and Leroy that night. Not saying this producer is clearly better, just this instance. — 8 years ago

Absolutely stunning. Idk about paying $250 for a village wine, but if I were to, this would be the btl. Meaty and full, yet still distinctly vosne, with elegance and spice. Stellar. Tasted a bit over the hill at first (just a touch of raisination) but the color and tannin are from a 2015 or thereabouts. It’s continually developing. Black tea, xmas spice, black cherry, cacao nib but really dark, idk if descriptors do it justice honestly. Was worried cause of vintage/storage/reviews but this is hitting. Btw idk if delectable has it right but it’s the Michel Bonnefond bottling made by Roumier. Texture is honestly seductive — 5 years ago

Always loved Ponnelles wines from the 40's- 60's These older btls were thought to be made by Georges Roumier. Drank a lot of great ones at Berns until they ran out and have found a few btls at auction. Vineyard: Situated at the base of the Cote du Py hillside on edge of the Morgon appellation, this parcel of 1.1 hectares is known as En Oeillat and has an average vine age of 60 years.
Orientation: Southern oriented
Soil: Sanded and pink granite, clay sub-soil
Viticulture: Organic farming, harvesting done entirely by hand.
Vinification: Indigenous yeast fermentations in concrete vats at low temperatures, to preserve fresh fruit flavors and a delicate tannic structure. After fermentations are complete, fruit is slowly pressed, over a 24 hour period, using an ancient vertical press Julien acquired in the Côte D’Or.
Aging: 20% aged in cement and 80% in neutral French barrels.
Production: 250 cases

The 2013 Régnié from Julien Sunier is a lovely example of the vintage and a very strong indication that, though this domaine has only been around since 2008, Monsieur Sunier is now one of the top estates in the region. As readers may recall, Julien Sunier worked with Christophe Roumier at the start of his career, prior to setting out for several different regions and wearingvarious winemaking hats, prior to settling in Beaujolais and opening his own domaine in ’08. His Beaujolais bottlings are not classics, but rather more of a hybrid of Beaujolais and Côte d’Or styles, as he ferments his whole clusters in cement vats with indigenous yeasts, prior to aging them for nine or ten months in old Burgundy barrels (that he still gets from Domaine Roumier). His 2013 Régnié offers up a bright, red fruity and complex nose of cherries, baked red berries, cardamom, lovely soil tones, turmeric and just a bit of oak spice in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-full, wide open and drinking beautifully, with a good core of fruit, solid acidity and grip and a long, complex and succulent finish. Deep, compact and quite masculine. It is still tight but offers up more after a sufficient decant, but it does still need more time. The nose is intoxicating as dark fruit and florals waft from the glass with minimal reduction. Structured palate with a weightless density and intensity and focused acidity. So young but for my money it's hard to find a better St. Joseph. Yes this is easily on Gonon level, but different like Rousseau and Roumier are. It's a dark color. Almost black. Stunning nose of crushed granite, fresh underbrush, black fruits, minerals galore, leather and so much more. Nuanced and complex as great St. Joseph can be. The palate is deep with big black fruits, significant ripe and sweet tannin and a long juicy finish. This is obviously young but has all the parts to be one of the best wines of the vintage as the finish lingers for a long time which hints at a very long future. Will update as it aerates. Sick for now.

AFTER 5 HOURS -The nose is like a big drop of blackberry juice combined with super granite tones some herbs. Really complex. The palate is epic. Huge fruit, great freshness, firm tannins. Gets very nook and cranny. Needs 5 years. — 10 years ago
