Choc-mint pattie; resolved Cabernet savoury elements - looking good at 18 — 9 years ago
Drinking better than anticipated. Lovely choc mint aromatics, good body. — 9 years ago
The 1998 is from a great vintage. An iconic Cabernet Shiraz done so well in Australia. This shows minty Cab nuances from Coonawarra plus a choc/leafy nose with nice sweet Shiraz (McLaren Vale?) to round it out. A perfect match with Cape Grim rump. 18.5. — 10 years ago
There r good surprises in life. This unknown 14yo Pomerol is 1. Perfectly satisfying dark choc prunes. — 11 years ago
Plum or black berry, dark choc, mild spice on the nose. Good body and tannin structure. Some peppery after taste. (Plum, dark berries, fruitcake and cigar box; fine grained tannins) — 12 years ago
Interesting compared to its other vintages. Little bit of wholebunch through it. Forest fruits, vanilla bean, red cherries and dark choc. Steminess and leafy tones in the background — 9 years ago

Very well balamced, delicious array of scents on the nose; Licorice, tar, anise, dark choc, mascerano and black cherries, raspberry, blackcurrant, clove, dried herbs, florals. Juicy, well structured palate. Medium acid, medium tannin, medium (+) finish. Noticeable blackberry and white pepper palate. Delicious — 10 years ago
Very gd bottle. Tom racked up Brunello about 8mo ago this is 7yrs old. Dry, fruity good with steak but really really gd with Choc. About $50 a bottle I splurged for our 20ur Ann. — 10 years ago

Choc-co-la-te! — 9 years ago
Not your ordinary Spanish garnacha! This chic treat is more like a high end chateauneuf du pape. This wine screams high quality from the stunning refined clarity to the espresso and oak aromatics. The full bodied flavors, dark berry, earth, espresso and hint minerality were equally complex on the palate. Good acidity, with firm but refined tannin. Stylish, rugged, refined, you have the sense this wine can do anything, be everything at once. Perfect for any dish and all special occasions, wonderful from start to finish. — 9 years ago
