Strawberries & cream, smooth and seductive. Perfect after a day's Autumn sun in Eze (at Chevre D'Or)... — 8 years ago
2011v. A blind taster might initially think this is a chard, from the mix of peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, and oaked vanilla on the nose. But the palette reveals a leaner body and distinct minerality. Finish is tropical fruit, that morphs and is complemented by food: from pineapple with a pork roast to honey and peach with a salty chevre (a perfect pairing w/ this wine). Winemaker's website details that this wine has about 18mo in contact with yeast, and is barrel aged 2-4yrs. I typically don't like oaked whites, but the execution of this bottle is fantastic. 13% ABV. — 8 years ago
Hints of lemon grass on the nose, a deep citrus finish. Loved it with a cheese course. Especially great with chevre. — 9 years ago
Aroma is passion fruit and a slight bit of jasmine. Color is a gorgeous melted butter— slightly cloudy and kind of like the color of a kitchen in the 70s. Upon swirling the aroma gets nuttier, deeper, almost slightly like chlorine but if chlorine were sweet (?). Honestly, the smell is really good. As the wine warms up, this wine gets really savory like a bag of salt and vinegar chips. And a little buttered popcorn. Really good. The finish is long to enjoy these flavors, but not overwhelmingly so. Really into this wine. — 7 years ago
This was a fun one to drink! Had a few years in the cellar and came out with a little extra complexity and wow factor. Nothing crazy good and I certainly wouldn't hold on to it much longer but it was worth sitting on one of these and letting it evolve.
It was showing a little extra butterscotch, and the subdued fruit was allowing some nice minerality to show through.
There was maybe just a touch of an unwanted oxidative quality to it, but certainly not offensive.
Paired great with some chevre. — 9 years ago

RATINGS
Publication: Wine advocate
Rating: (89-91)
The 2014 Morgon, which has been organically farmed for 10 years, undergoes carbonic maceration with 80% in old Burgundy barrels for 8 months until bottling in June 2014 with one gram per liter sulfur. It has a light red cherry, slightly gravelly bouquet that is expressive and develops dried rose petals scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a sense of symmetry, and a fine, edgy, bitter cherry finish. This Morgon is very elegant and should age well over the next 8 to 10 years.

Rating: 92 (Gilman)
The 2014 Morgon from Antoine Sunier is aged in a bit lower percentage of used Burgundy casks than his Régnié (eighty percent versus ninety), with the balance of the cuvée raised in epoxy-lined cement tanks. These old vines have produced an excellent and quite classic Morgon in 2014, wafting from the glass in a fine aromatic blend of black cherries, cassis, fresh thyme, campfires, a superb base of dark stony soil tones, incipient autumnal notes and a whisper of cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with lovey focus and grip, fine transparency and just a bit of backend tannin on the very long and perfectly focused young finish. Fine, fine juice in the making. 2015-2035. - Jon Gilman — 9 years ago
Mycket gott till ex Anka. Chevre.. — 9 years ago
A spendy $38 but worth every penny. Subtle, aromatic, minerality (power of suggestion?). Well balanced. Do yourself a favor and buy some nice chevre to go with it. — 7 years ago
Was fun to pop open this bottle to see where it's starting. Hit me like god's apple juice. Not in a profound place, but beautiful, vivacious chenin that paired really well with dishes like strawberry salad and asparagus and radish with chevre and puffed quinoa. Will try to hold until 2020 for next bottle. — 8 years ago
Fresh bright nose. Prominent raspberry amongst red fruit sweet palate. Dryish finish with final kick. Amazingly good with chevre. Survived well in bottle overnight. Enjoyed. — 8 years ago
crisp yet moderately sweet, with aromas of ripe apricot and peach preserves, as well as hints of green tea, orange zest, and orange blossom. it is well balanced by a refreshing acidity. Pair recomm: blue cheese, chevre, and smoked gouda, or serve for dessert with poached pears, baked apples, or almonds and hazelnuts. — 9 years ago

This one was just fine! The nose was chevre cheese, cut strawberries, gooseberry, unripened peppercorn, gravel, saline. Additional swirling revealed apricot, floral Rose, Floral tea. The Taste was dried strawberry, salted red fruit medley, orange rind, cranberry juice, rain-runoff, lime juice. This was lively but level-headed, with heavy minerality in the back to balance the fruit and citrus and to keep you thirsty. Also, on the other end, it's vibrancy kept me energized rather than feeling like I was just licking a wet limestone. The Empty Glass smelled strongly of peppery creamy cheese. — 7 years ago
