2020 fall. This might be my favorite (at least for immediate enjoyment) among the wines guzzled on our recent Rioja binge. It’s open-knot, with lots of red fruit and spices like mace, but also has typical mature notes - that mushroom and cheese thing. At the same time, it doesn’t feel overly developed - it’s just layered. — 5 years ago
The White Burgundy was excellent but, still have to have my BSR 375ml. It’s been awhile for us.
It is a little better tonight following the Burgundy & soft white cheese.
The nose on this bottle really flows out of the glass tonight. Beautiful lean fruits of; blackberries, black cherries, cherries, strawberries, watermelon near the rind, blood orange, orange & tangerine & some pomegranate. Crisp volcanic minerals, saline, sea fossils, baguette crust, vanillin, whiff of caramel, soft white spice, pink flowers and rose pedals.
Everything on the palate sings just a little louder tonight as well. Fruits are even a little richer than normal. Ripe & slightly gummy not as normal leaner fruits of; blackberries, black cherries, cherries, strawberries, watermelon near the rind, blood orange, orange & tangerine & some pomegranate. Crisp and grippy, volcanic minerals, beautiful softer, powdery chalkiness w/o quite the sharper edge it normally has, soft, hints of Provence herbs, saline, sea fossils, baguette crust, vanillin, whiff of caramel, soft white spice, pink flowers and rose pedals. The acidity is crisp, lively and dead on as alway. The long, rich, well balanced finish is deliciously refreshing and persists minutes.

Consumed 30-Mar-2025. Dark purple red. Nose is abundant and yields blackberry and blueberry compote. Juicy medium full palate echoes the nose with ashy blackberry taking the lead. Juicy acidity. Medium minus tannins. Lingering, dark finish. An Old World feel makes this Washington GSM blend a great choice for hearty meals year round from the grill to the hearth. Rich meat and vegetable stews will shine. Drink now through 2031. — 6 months ago
Delicious and complex, but not overwhelming. Easy to drink. 85% tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% mazuela. Good with strong cheese or beef. Dry. — 5 years ago
Strong diacetyl notes and rich, smooth oak flavor. Full bodied. Creamy with vanilla highlights. Goes well with a heavier cream pasta dish, soft cheese, poultry, pork, or simply on its own! — 5 years ago
Delicious and bold — 6 years ago
Fruit comes forward first on the nose, with notes of cranberry, sweet raspberry and velvet. The palate starts with the same, with bold ripe red fruits, then opening into leather, wood, and developing Further into velvety, long tannins on the finish. Nebbiolo sounds intimidating but it’s surprisingly medium bodied and the tannins, at least here, are delicate in the end. Paired with Italian Gorgonzola cheese this becomes transcendent. — 4 years ago

Earthy and mushroom-y. Ate with ribs, Mac and cheese, corn casserole. Bought at Whole Foods. — 5 years ago
Medium plus body. Silky vanilla finish. Very nice for at 13.9%. Enjoy as a wine with a cheese board on into a lamb stew or other heavier main courses — 6 years ago

Strawberries, blackberries & berry jam in the nose with strawberries, blackberries, plums, raspberries and jam in the palate. A real fruit bomb. Paired well with both Parmesan & cheddar, ham & prosciutto and a cheese flavored cracker. Went well if drank prior to dark chocolate or a double chocolate brownie, but not as good as drank after. — 4 months ago
