A funky swervey champagne Rose’ of all Pinot (8% still juice) where all the fruit is contained within a burlap sack of barley husk and smoked peaches. From a very small estate of 4ha - all Grand Cru, this is a lovely bottle with attractive notes of apricot, gala apple, lime, peaches, brioche, and light hint of vanilla. Creamy mousse. Fresh and round on the palate, with a long elegant finish.

The two Bordeaux varieties and one from Burgundy give the wine its characteristics - smoke and spice from the Merlot, full fruit and herbs from the Cab Franc and a tart finish from the Pinot. The Pinot shows much more than 1% might suggest. Smoke, herbs and red fruit are abundant, but the Pinotesque notes of cola and black tea deliver a solid smack.
