Nice color of dark burgundy with purple hue. Nose is seducing with plenty amount of dried strawberries and ripe banana or mango, crayon, wet dust. The nose keeps surfacing and doesn’t end. Taste is following the nose with some more flavors like subtle sweetness and zest, tobacco leaves, and really nice oak. Acidity, cooking spices like oregano, and tannins show up in the aftertaste, medium long. A very distinct Cab that is so different from traditional California Cab. She reminds me of high end Amarone. — 8 years ago

Fresh peach apple blossom sweet and seductive. Sweet but has nice freshness and pretty orange zest and hibiscus perfume notes on the finish. A few things unique here They can also heat the tanks in addition to cooling them this helps them start the fermentation quickly. They also have fresh airflow brought in, to keep mold out, co2 sensors and they can heat the cellar in winter to keep it 55 degrees to keep the wines Brett free. The take chlorine out of the water also to eliminate tca — 12 years ago

Nice, smooth, full flavor, cherries. — 10 years ago
This is the "Desolation" from the Champoux Vineyard. Has held up beautifully. It had such screaming acid and austerity upon release, I put it away, and kinda forgot about it. More reminiscent of mature white Burg than anything domestic. Rich with a touch of spice and forest floor. Fantastic with a Ramp Risotto. — 10 years ago
A collection 86 cab discovery 9 Klipsun merlot 5 cf champoux. Bottled at the end of June has a very complex bouquet fresh plowed earth that intensity of red mountain horse heaven hills gives it a floral quality to compliment the earth from red mountain dark bittersweet chocolate cassis currant. Mouth filling from the center out dark spice and a long layered finish espresso and mocha very complex this wine has that forward nature of this vintage. Big but very elegantly fashioned need time but has all the right stuff. Passing time is the place to taste Washington wines they are going to make three wines from the three major appellations in Washington horse heaven hills red mountain and walla walla. 2013 barrel sample from discovery vineyard lots of dark berry fruit rich viscous with layers of currant and cassis berry fruit very intense with layers of dark spice and still had wonderful balance and freshness. Champoux vineyards... Mmmmm! — 12 years ago
Sourdough with blueberry, dried black currant, thyme, mint, black nigella sativa seed, black sugarless cake, and violet fragrances. Inky black color with a sedimentary side, but tar, graphite, baker's chocolate, espresso bean, licorice, forest floor biomass, black olive, and smoky black currant forever. Great wine from a storied vineyard! — 8 years ago
A deft balance with dried cherries and black currant skins being strongly present but not overdone. Beautiful. — 9 years ago

A blend of cf 80 merlot and 20 cf from boushey and champoux vineyards red plum and cherry fruit floral and light tobacco spice. A very smooth and silky wine that has lots of spice and nuance with a firm hand of acidity this wine will flesh out with some time in the bottle the finish is long and layered . Most excellent — 11 years ago
Had a hard time putting my thumb on specific flavors. That said, robust & well-rounded, light mouthfeel, but fully coats the palate.
Smooth, great tannins, sour cherry, cedar, good longevity. — 11 years ago

Beautiful wine - at almost a decade old, this still has vibrant fruit and a complex structure. Primarily ripe raspberries and high-toned cherries, with a food friendly acidity level. — 7 years ago
