A little more nuance out of this one. The single vineyard allows the spice to meld well with earthy ness of this wine. — 8 years ago

Domaine du Pavillon de Chavannes

Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2015

Oh mygosh on a scale of one to pastille heaven I might rate this as an eight point nine plus, a few bonus unofficial point stops in a swamp of bramble and raspberry bush. A ripe swamp.,Love it. It could be I am a gamay nut but I dug this heartily. If I were eating steak? Oh no. Not even with a soy sauce-braised tempeh extravaganza. But for sipping, with a pal, with-let me recommend---a nice soft pretzel (welcome to my heavenly LA life) and YAS. That's the stuff — 9 years ago

Château Yon-Figeac

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

Great vintage. Needs an hour to breath. Very well balanced. Full bodied. Smokey, leather, coffee, pepper, soy... brilliant!! This wine has all the right components to last another 10 years at least. — 10 years ago

Château Rocher-Figeac

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

This 2015 is a great value. A little thin mid palate, but a very good bordeaux representation for around $20 USD — 8 years ago

Château La Grave Figeac

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

The location is prime. Pure and good level of minerality and good fruit just missing the level of blue and blackfruit. Very balance and the overall tannin and acidic feel is good — 9 years ago

Pavillon la Tourelle

Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2013

Light ruby color with some purple and brown mixed tone. Just a tiny hazy and essentially clear. Nose of sour cherries, berries like raspberries, and a bit cedar. Taste of refreshing acidic raspberry, sour cherries , spice like sage/clove, cola, and some roasted peppers note. Light but balanced. Aftertaste is a bit weak, dominated by the spice note, roasted pepper, a bit cola, and hickory note. Quite an interesting Bordeaux. — 9 years ago

Lingonberries, strawberries, leather and wooden tones. Impressive clarity of flavour. Like an autumn day in the woods bottled for my enjoyment. — 11 years ago
