Popped and poured; consumed over an hour. The 2018 Nostros Blend is an interesting combination of Rhône varieties. A GSM with a touch of Roussanne. The wine pours a deep garnet color with medium+ viscosity; faint staining of tears. On the nose, a combination of ripe and stewed red, black and blue fruits, oiled leather ball glove, black pepper, olive tapenade, salmiakki, tomato leaf, dry rocky minerals and just a hint of warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium (+?) tannin, medium acid. Alcohol is medium + but comes across a touch hot. Finish is long and spicy. My favorite red so far from Manousakis. Should drink well through the end of the decade. I can sense Laurence Féraud’s hand on this ❤️ — 2 years ago
One of the few producers that I purchase each and every vintage. I find that Laurence Feraud’s wines are consistently some of the more interesting and enjoyable wines made in all of Chateauneuf du Pape; particularly when value comes into play. This bottle is my first experience with her 2018 vintage and the first bottle of a small tranche that I swooped up upon release. Popped and poured; consumed over 5 hours. The color is deep ruby with a near opaque core; glossy and gorgeous to behold. Medium+ viscosity. On the nose, this is classic Pegaü with loads of dark cherry and bramble fruit, a veritable hillside full of garrigue, lavender, black pepper, and something that reminds me of old books. On that palate, the fruit is equally generous, brambles and cherries, exotic spices, Herbs de Provence and a somewhat sanguine-like character to it. Substantial structure, though it seems to be a notch lower than the previous three vintages at this point in its young life. The tannins are very sneaky. Almost imperceptible for the first hour and yet, by hour four, they were very much making themselves known (in the Medium+ range). Acid is also Medium+ indicating these have an exciting life ahead. The finish lasts for well over a minute. All in all, another lovely Pegaü that will likely live in the shadow of some of the more heralded vintages in the last ten years however, that doesn’t mean this isn’t a stunner. Absolutely lovely stuff and I very much look forward to enjoying these well into the 2030’s. — 4 years ago
A beauty of a wine. After some air it’s fruity, vibrant and the acid is refreshingly delicate — 8 months ago
Not the blend….but the Laurence Reserve Cab Sav. Excellent. At the winery. — 2 years ago
Such a beautiful, fruity, spicy, earthy, savory, gamy, Southern Rhône blend from Château Pégau... 🍇 🍷
I love that this wine represents a free expression from the winemaker, who pursued this wine in an unrestricted manner (it’s a Vin de France), given the vineyard location and blends of varieties and vintages involved. It’s made organically.
It’s a non-classified wine which opens the door to creativity and ingenuity. The winemaker @laurenceferaud referred to this wine as a “little brother” of #chateauneufdupape and my goodness I adore it 🥰 👏👏👏
I bought this wine at @sunfishcellars and attended the wine tasting with winemakers Laurence Feraud and @justineferaud moderated by @hoythill2011 🙏🙏🙏

A little thin. Reminiscent of that one Bichi rose. — 2 years ago
Medium garnet in color, this iconic red Châteauneuf-du-Pape has developed brilliantly since I first tasted it from barrel with winemaker Laurence Feraud. Well defined, pronouned aromas of raspberry and strawberry marmalade, cooked red cherries, dried herbs, charred wood, licorice, earth, mushrooms and iodine are bursting from the glass. Full bodied, concentrated and extremely dense, the 2007 Da Capo closes with a long, slightly alcoholic finish. It has probably reached it‘s peak by now, but will likely stay there for another decade. Drink now or until 2034. — 3 years ago
