Super light and refreshing. Good acid and aggressively bitter, reminiscent of ruby red grapefruit peel. Looks like a rose, but drinks more like an orange wine. Pairs great with Italian red sauce dishes. — 5 years ago

A big rose that’s good with food — 7 years ago
Slightly deeper colour than the 2019 and 2017 . More closed , quite rich summer fruits , touch more mineral . Pretty big and rich in the mouth , more powerful tannins , more masculine more wild and serious than the 2017 . Long and mineral on the finish . Needs time this may well close down but lots of promise . Quite mineral and saline on the rose and redcurrant tinged finish . Will improve over the next 10-15 years and last a further 10 . — 3 years ago
Purchased at the winery. We did a group day trip tour from Rome to Tuscany. It was March, but the vineyard and its Bose speakers was still a fun attraction. 4.5 years later, having survived a move, among other things, we finally decided to pop it.
Nose: crushed rose petals, children’s cherry robitussin, bittersweet chocolate, forest floor after a campfire nearby.
Palette: raspberry & cherry, leather glove, velvety tannin that is pretty chill. Lighter body compared to other brunello, what sometimes is referred to as “elegance” honestly, kind of like Mozart (where other Brunellos can be like Wagner or something more modern) hehe.
Finish: menthol on the finish

1990 vintage. An under the radar Pomerol, bought in 1961 by the grandfather of current owner Nathalie Despagne. He also owned La Tour Figeac in Saint-Emilion and La Rose Figeac is just across the Saint-Emilion border. The 4,56 hectare vineyard consists of 9 parcels (all within 500 m of each other) on gravelly sandy soils and is planted with Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc. My bottle had a near-perfect level and as the smell was a bit musty upon opening, but there was still good fruit in the mouth and the colour looked very solid, I took the risk to decant it. It turned out to be a wise decision as the wine evolved positively, even if the tannins remained a bit rustic. On the other hand it still has lively fruit and freshness, it is a testimony to the ageing potential of Bordeaux wines and an attractive food wine. Abv. 12,8% . — 4 years ago
Raspberry, cranberry, pomegranate, sour fruit and acidic finish. — 5 years ago
It’s been about 3 years since I’ve had this organic Provence rosé from #cynthiahurley and this vintage doesn’t disappoint. The color is so clear that it looks like a white, but don’t be fooled... the strong acidity and fresh strawberry flavors are 100% rosé. I find many imported Provence wines to be mediocre, but this really stands out and isn’t expensive. Also has a screw top for the beach 😉 — 5 years ago
