Intense Alsatian Pinot Noir, reminiscent of a great Burgundy, sourced from the Luft and Neuberg plots in the Bollenberg hill in Orschwihr. Red fruit, great structure, no rusticity. The 2015 is the last vintage they make. Starting in 2016, they made two single-vineyard wines from each of these 2 plots). — 4 years ago

Jeb 97 Since it was on sale I wasn’t expecting much but this in for the long haul. For $40.00🤷🏼♂️ instead of release of $100.00, no brainer Captûre wines are devoted to showcasing the rugged terroir of the Mayacamas Mountains. Captûre's wines are sourced from the estate vineyard some 3000ft in elevation at the top of Cloverdale Peak, along with other top vineyards in Knights Valley and Alexander Valley. These vineyards all share the same rocky volcanic soils of the Mayacamas and produce wines of both struture and elegance. Originally founded by the late, great, Denis Malbec, Captûre continues to fashion wines from traditional Bordeaux varietals to showcase this spectacular terroir. My previous note for a 2018 example is still valid for this 2022. It's peachy and lemony on the nose. There is a bit of chalk and a very discreet herbal note. There isn't any kiwi or cat piss note here like in very aromatic NZ sauvignons. It's more delicate and white-fruit forward. The palate is well balanced with a good acid drive, some nice width, good white peach and nice lemon tart and lemon curd notes all along. The mouthfeel is reminiscent of that chalky note on the nose : that chalky texture carries on from the beginning to the very end. The finish is fresh, lemony and peachy and goes on for a good while. There is a bit of grip too. I had an urge for oysters and realized I hadn't had pouilly fumé in a long while. 2 fixes in one go --> great success 👍! — 5 months ago

Fluid cherry-ruby dress. Nose: red fruits, spices, vegetable. Smooth mouth, light, flexible body. Notes of Pinot Noir and Gamay well restored, assembled in harmony in an accessible and complex bouquet with many shades: cherry, cloves, pepper, strawberry, blackberry, rose, violets. Pretty vegetable notes, almost menthol, dry herbs, hay. Tertiary notes slightly smoked/vanilla, suggesting a possibility of Burgundian evolution. Very nice work at a correct price.
Robe cerise-rubis fluide. — 3 years ago
Wow! Grand vin. — 5 years ago

A nice blanc de blanc. Bubbles quite present at this point, could take a few more years (this was disgorged 2022). But quite refined with good minerally acid and a long finish with the right level of yeast. — a month ago
