Probably my first 100% Syrah from this region. Color me impressed!
90mins bottle decant and this was absolutely ready to go. Wonderful pairing with venison shank risotto! Deep purple/black in the glass (Paso-like). Big aromatics of fresh mixed berry pie, crème de cassis, and espresso beans (again, a bit Paso-like). The palate is silky and rich (Paso-like again) with a wash of dark fruits, dark chocolate, baking spices and black pepper. The finish takes a detour from Paso as the heat isn’t noticeable and has just a hint of underripe fruit and clean leather. This is a killer value and a wine I’ll look for again. — 6 months ago
A beautifully balanced, intense evocation of South of France Syrah. Though the Delectable header doesn't show it this wine is from Chateau de l'Ou and is technically an IGP Côtes Catalanes. Think Northern Rhône on steroids - less minerality but more fruit - cassis, blackberry, mocha and exceptional depth. Very long finish as well and still a few years to grow. Stunning — 6 years ago
Bu au 23 rue rene leynaud. Restaurant caviste. Rond et gras comme je les aime. Chardonnay 2012 — 10 years ago
PnP. Definitely drinking young.
Dark purple color. Nose has modest OH, blackberry, and tar. Dark Chocolate and black cherry on the palate. Deep wine and could have better structure. Finish is medium.
Overall very solid, but not sure it’s as good as the 96pts. Wine Advocate scores it. — 5 years ago
Grapes grown in black schist; 100% Syrah. This has a majestic depth and character with incredibly round flavor. Masculine and muscular, it reminds me of my favorite snowy days in the depths of winter. — 8 years ago

Tart and semi-sweet, definitely oozes Rhone! — 7 days ago
