Beautiful wine! 2009 Margaux from Château D'Issan ...even more enjoyable knowing that we have actually visited and toured the 15th century Château....one of the few actually surrounded by a moat!
Will post tasting notes soon, but this bottle opened up beautifully. 😀🍷🇫🇷 — 6 years ago
If the d'Issan was a treat this was...Utterly delicious, and from a larger format would've been sublime I have no doubt — 9 years ago
I know that 2012 wasn’t a perfect year but this still underperformed. Have a lot of nostalgia for D’Issan after Emmanuel Cruse (the proprietor) oversaw the Bordeaux tasting competition where my wife and I met. Very little fruit on the mid palate. Bit thin on the finish. Definitely left bank - the nose is very nice. Good pairing with beef tenderloin slow roasted but still a smidge below what I hoped. — 4 months ago
Much brighter than the 2009 chateau d'issan that we had. Good amount of fruit but not a fruit bomb. Good, tasty. More complexities than the Dissan. That one is much more dark. — 6 years ago
This 90% Merlot is grown directly adjacent to the Margaux property of the chateau but is entitled only to Bordeaux Superieur appellation. It’s really good and eminently drinkable. Loads of ripe, deep plummet fruit competes with cedar and rich, minerally earthy notes. In the mouth, it’s rich but not as ponderous as many ‘18s. For a weeknight-priced Bordeaux, wow! — 4 months ago
