2005 vintage. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Nose at the beginning was the usual D'Issan tight as nails. Maan, this wine always needs to be left alone to come out of the shell. Some milk chocolate and cocoa powder alongside the dense, dark fruits and earth that was appointed to the front lines at the onset. Not the best vintage for the left bank, but this wine was very well balanced with refined tannins....lovely earthly and rich dark plum and black fruit notes. A very enjoyable Haut-Medoc wine from Château D'Issan. — 7 years ago
