2016 vintage. "Apodis" is a 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot blend from a selected parcel of Château L'Eden, Médoc ( whereas the regular Château l'Eden blend is dominated by Merlot at 70%). First vintage. Good concentration of slightly jammy fruit and soft tannin. A good wine with international appeal, but not very complex. Hubert de Boüard consults. Abv. 14%. — 2 years ago
2015 vintage. Co-owned by Hubert de Boüard (Angélus) and Dominique Hebrard (ex-Cheval Blanc). 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Attractive nose with truffle, red fruit and spices. Fresh and elegant, with perfectly integrated oak, a nice ripe tannic bite and good walnutty length. Terrific value at 12 euros. "Les Cerisiers" is a 5 hectares parcel that produces finer wines than the regular bottling. — 4 years ago
Deep inky brick, slow dark legs, plums and chocolate, subtle tannins and beautiful mouthfeel, love a great Pomerol Merlot! — 2 months ago
2020 vintage. Another great effort from this Château. Already easy drinking. A lot of sweet fruit, smooth with a nice ripe tannic bite, freshness and good length. Merlot 70%, Cabernet Franc 16%, Cabernet Sauvignon 9%, Carmenère 2% and Noir de Pressac (aka Malbec) 2%. Abv. 14,5%. Hubert de Boüard consults.Don't know if it will make old bones ( a 2008 recently tasted was totally over the hill). — 2 years ago
2015 vintage. Second vintage consulted by Hubert de Boüard. A blend of 55% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. Textbook Margaux of Cru Classé quality. Refinement and depth with a serious soft tannic backbone and great length. Terrific value at 20 euros. Highly recommended. — 4 years ago

The 2019 Angélus was bottled in September 2021, later than many other wines of this vintage. This is very precise on the nose, offering blackberry, dried iris petals, a little graphite and a touch of oyster shell, and the marine influence is more noticeable than before. The palate is beautifully balanced, the 40% Cabernet Franc very expressive and squarely in the driving seat. It lends this wine ample freshness and, as mentioned before, makes it stylistically quite akin to Château Figeac. Displaying fine structure toward the finish, this Angélus is full of tension thanks to a pH of 3.60 (previously, it was around pH 3.85, according to Hubert de Boüard) and comes with a very sustained finish. Seriously impressive, though it will require patience. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2022)

Opened just prior to service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. As far as I know, this was the first commercially released vintage of La Fleur de Boüard but others may be able to confirm or deny that. The 2000 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruits: back plums, cassis, pipe tobacco, Flintstones vitamins, purple flowers, dried green herbs organic earth and fine baking spices. “Yabba dabba doo!” On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Gosh, this is in a really lovely place right now; very well balanced! Thank Andy! Drink now through 2040. — 3 days ago
