This is stunning. What poise and length. The length is ridiculous. Wild, feral, stony nose, gravy, darkness, woodland berries, elf-like creature's tiny droppings and so much more. Not for everyone but it is definitely for me. Palate is refined and powerful with serious structure and density and very vivid fruit. A big boy but so juicy. What length. Genius wine that has 20+ years in the tank. — 9 years ago

One of the wines I had in 2008 that made me fall in love with wine was a Côte du Rhone by JL Chave "Mon Coeur". It's been a long time since I had a Rhone wine, I got this from Kermit Lynch shop in Berkeley, Cali. Nice notes of pepper and spice, gamy, good tannins from Syrah. Another good find from Kermit... Try this with steak that has fat, you will love this wine! — 10 years ago

Sabores a frutas silvestres, olores a madera de roble y regaliz. Final largo y muy suave. — 13 years ago
2016. Really great wine. A bit young and will be great in 5+ years. Earthy woodsy nose, medium body, some dark fruit with mineral. Decant for at least 1 hour. — 8 years ago
We often read discussions of wines that deserve more respect than they are designated. Villages that drink like premier crus; premieres that aspire to be GC's. in this case, we have a "lowly" villages lieu-dit surrounded on 3 sides by great Gevrey GC climats. Such a sweet spot of intense savory fruit at a price point that blows your mind. Thoroughly impressed with the pedigree of this wine, and the visceral edginess that Gerard Raphet imparts here. Spicy, fresh acidity, vibrant mesmerizing tannin, ripe cherry, earthy to the core. Soooo Burgundian! Enjoyable now (with a brilliant succulent Mahi-mahi), but will be so much more incredible in the mid-2020's. — 9 years ago

Very easy drinking. Nice style that goes with lots of different types of food. — 10 years ago
2004. This is a great iteration of the esoteric Charmes-Chambertin. Tannins are yet unresolved and many years are left under this fine Burgundy! — 11 years ago
