Big violet bouquet from this swarthy suitor. Ripe blackberry, cassis and eucalyptus and cinnamon-allspice plum follow. Black cherry, black plum, tobacco, cedar and cherrywood on the palate. This one's rich, so definitely overdo it. — 9 years ago

Lime pith, ripe pear notes on the exuberant nose.... but the weight on the palate is impressive. Textured, waxy, lively acidity and a long almost saline finish. This is a food wine that can hold its own with Asian or Mediterranean cuisine and slice through the richness and complexity to make its own statement. The palate is also full of the earth from which it comes, with a savory salinity that runs through the white wines of the Italian islands.
