Yummy, but young. Capo Santa Monica. — 9 years ago
Crisp, bright, very unusual white wine made with 2 red varieties (Callet and Giro Ros) and Premsal, a white variety indigenous to Mallorca. Not very expressive nose, with hints of tropical fruit and maybe hay. Citrus, unripe pear and some salinity and almost fizzy finish. High acidity. — 5 years ago

Bright cherry- and blueberry aromatics which then give way to a palate packed with similar juicy, cherry flavour. Spicy highlights too. Smooth, rounded and delightfully ripe, the vivacious fruitiness is skilfully balanced by a gentle hint of oak which adds depth. It lingers with a light cocoa taste — 7 years ago
1998 Messorio Bolgheri Merlot. Drank at Capo with J&A, J&L, and K. Great! — 9 years ago
Italy. White. Sicilian.
100% Malvasia grapes. This was a really interesting one; got hints of sea salt more than fruit (maybe some lemon and nectarine), straw color, thick compared to most Italian white blend/moscato/Pinot Grigio...more like a chardonnay consistency but no buttery taste - tasted much lighter. Think of cooking with butter vs olive oil - this is more like olive oil. Went wonderfully with seafood (spaghetti alle vongole)...used it to cook the dish too. Don’t really taste the alcohol (13.5% alc. by vol.). I really liked it and it was unlike other whites I’ve tried. More expensive than other whites I’ve tried but I definitely would get it again as I felt it had more depth. Not a sparkling or wine with “zing”. — 5 years ago
