A charming spicy chenin from Paarl, South Africa. Yellow-greenish color and heavy on the swirl; the nose is like smelling and tasting a clear mountain brook followed by pineapple, peaches, anise, and a bouqet of flowers; the taste is rich and spicy, the fruit and spicy herbaceousness is lined up nicely and the finish is long. Yes, I was gobsmacked by surprise at how great this wine tasted. 13.5% and 20 usd. — 4 years ago
Very strong dark fruits hit very fast and drop quickly. Low tannin. Mild finish. Very drinkable. — 6 years ago
Drinking this one just three years after the vintage, this is all fresh and crispy. The nose is Honeycrisp apple... On the palate, that apple gets really dry and crisp... Dried sage here too... Quite acidic which will be great for food pairings. — 3 years ago
Even better than I remembered. Maybe bc it’s on draft from the motherland — 4 years ago

Pale crimson in colour - nearly transparent. Has that luscious mouthfeel typical of many Tasmanian Pinot. Great palate intensity. Cherry with some stemmy herbal notes. One of those wines where the pale colour doesn’t prepare you for the profound palate intensity. Only 20% whole bunches in the ferment which shows sensitive intuitive winemaking. Winner of the Trophy for the best Pinot Noir at Royal Adelaide and also at Royal Hobart Wine Shows. Incredible value for such a highly awarded wine: 6 bottles @ $39.95 each. Luckily I have 3 bottles left. Plan to have one each year - 2027, 2028 and 2029. — 15 days ago
