I know all of you sommeliers are drinking a perfect glass of history. think of the great william wallace. so while your drinking your glass of history by the wood burning fireplace let me explain this fantastic out of this world the most buck for your money. so I just recently bought a cork screw and turned it into a lewer (no pun intended) and so we began training. bottle 1 was corked and it was like the Aspen alps the crisp earth flavor and then it hit me. I am now in training to be a sommelier. jerkin off is now my #2 thing on my mind. I take a sip and I wish all you sommeliers in training good luck. — 9 years ago

I loved this 2017 Merlot Cabernet as a great every day drinking wine. $5.99 at Trader Joe’s - TJ wine expert Adam recommended. — 6 years ago
Liked this very much. Not as good as the Fahlingina but a close second.
Light, crisp fruity finish. — 7 years ago
Ancient vintages of this Saint-Émilion have a tendency to impress and the 1958 Canon-la-Gaffelière is no different. Quite pale in colour, it has a wonderful, heart-warming bouquet with red cherry, strawberry and burning embers/ash-like aromas. It is clean and well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with surprising fruit concentration, harmonious and gentle, the acidity pitch perfect. Whilst not a complex wine it has a sense of purity that catches you off guard. I love the piquancy on the finish. Wonderful. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2018 — 8 years ago
For a 2014 bottle, I immediately get rich meatiness, wet leaves in Autumn, lots of smoke (like from burning Autumn leaves). On the palette, higher acidity than I might have expected, almost lemon-orange, which is far from what I would anticipate from a red Burgundy. Also astringent like tea. The scent gives a lovely complex sense of terroir, but unfortunately I don’t get it coming through as much on the palette. — 8 years ago
Stays on the cool side of big blue fruits. Crisp acidity makes a lot of the subtle aspects jump out. Burning embers, citrus, a very detailed wine. — 9 years ago
If you were down to your last $30, my recommendation would be to buy and drink this wine. Well, first you should ask if the 2013 is available, but you could have worse problems than having to settle for the 2014, like only having $30, but I digress. Opens with same familiar voice: burning incense, lavender, and dark bramble fruit. Noticing a more pungent earth and wet stone nuance than the last bottle. Explosive, ripe black raspberry fruit on the palate is tempered by the bitter cocoa and sea salt. There's some captivating secondary fig or truffle there, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Inspiring. — 10 years ago
