Still remarkably youthful, it’s rich, dense and dark fruited, layered with classicism of cigar box, cedar and spices. The palate is concentrated and powerful with a silky texture and incredible length. 95 is nowhere near its peak. Many more years to go. And while I’ll never be a real Bordeaux lover, it’s clear what makes these first growths special. — 7 months ago
Tangerine with sweeter citrus. Herbal and some minerality notes — 9 months ago
Perfectly evolved & peaking right now.
This is classical Bordeaux heaven!
Sous-bois, dusty wardrobe, pencil shavings, cigar box and (still!) some black currant. Surprisingly fresh on the nose and even fresher on the palate. Light medium body, the tannins completely mellowed and fully integrated, vibrant juicy acidity.
This is poised, so elegant, so drinkable and with amazing depth. And with bright freshness. What a delight!

My FAVE Box Wine!
From HyVee w/Sale & Rebate! — 5 months ago
Celebrating with a couple of fun bottles tonight. 2 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A stunning dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: lightly fragrant notes of stewed red fruit, cassis, floral, little cigar box, herbaceous. Taste: silky, elegant, soft wine with a great mix of dark plum, currants, iron, scorched earth, tobacco, and cedar/bitter chocolate medium plus finish. YUM! Drinks well with the decant and more time to go. — 8 months ago
Had pilot noise but not an option I'm app. Dangerous wine, smooth and tasty. — 2 years ago
A wine that I have had many times that never disappoints. This had a nose you could smell all night. Lots of black fruits, sweet & savory with spice box, cedar, leather, game, lead pencil & cigar ash. This was still fresh, almost youthful with many years left. — 5 months ago
Cigar box, tobacco leaves, blueberry, red plum, gripping clayey high levels of tannins. Moderate acidity — 7 months ago
Great red - especially for the price. — 9 months ago
2 hour decant(decent fine/chunky sediment). A majestic purplish dark magenta color. On the nose: bursting from the glass are notes of red and black fruit, charred wood, milk chocolate, some mint, touch of cigar box. Taste: smooth, delicate, elegant wine with red berries/plum, leather, gravel, herbaceous, mocha, and a spiced tobacco medium plus finish. YUM! Drinks well with the decant, but no hurry, time to go. — a year ago

I think this is a very good inexpensive wine. Just the right amount of sweetness. — 4 months ago
