Xmas wine down finale. For me, the wine of the night. Uncorked the night before, decanted at 4:00 on Xmas, consumed around midnight. Single quintas are certainly worth considering alongside the vintages. Not as complex, true, but much depth and character. — 11 years ago

When you have afternoon conference calls and need to have your wits about you, this is perfect. Just like hanging out in Porto. Just 10% abv. — 11 years ago

Classic. Nice acid and good fruit. Silky smooth. A bit thin. Nice wine — 11 years ago
Very young, it needs many year ahead to find perfection and balance — 12 years ago
Translucent brown, amber like core, sherry notes, with maple brown sugar, molasses, and orange peel. Clean, dry, and long finish. Not too complex, certainly easy going, a nice treat. — 13 years ago
This is ridiculously unctuous and refined. At the current tariff for vintage Port, these LBV 2011 ports are the way to go IMO — 9 years ago

Doesn't get much better than this. Gemstone ruby hue with a tawny ring. Attractive nose, but the palate is just magnificent. Orange and spices underpinned by tar. Endless finish. I shy from giving it a 10 only because I consider it to be "life affirming" rather than "life changing." Like drinking time itself. Amazingly, it could probably age another decade or so with ease. Sheer brilliance. Bravo! — 12 years ago
Wowza! My wife's birth year wine...available to taste at the Mercado da Ribeira. Super fresh and nutty. — 12 years ago

Pacheca Porto Tawny 20 years old is a wine resulting from a blend of old cask aged ports matured at Quinta da Pacheca cool and tranquil cellar. With many years of ageing, the wine takes on its amber tawny color, with aromas of spice, nuts and oak. On the palate red fruit flavors, sweet, dried raisins and cacao with nice mouthfeel, smooth and complex. Rich and elegant lingering with a pleasant nuttiness, ending with honey and oak notes. This wine was a gift from a former colleague, Amandio, a native of Portugal, who brought back this gem from one of his trips back home. Obrigato! — 9 years ago
Brilliant. Pure and simple. — 11 years ago
— 11 years ago
Very citrusy profile, another rich style port, intense with dried orange notes, lingering acidity and spicy character - a lovely texture #portwineday #winelover — 11 years ago
