Borderline criminal to be opened this young, it pours a deep garnet all the way to the rim. Aromas of cherry liqueur, grilled herbs, sandalwood, licorice, tobacco and earth. Gripping tannins and lively acidity. — 10 years ago
2010 Screaming Eagle Sauvignon Blanc. Drank at dinner w Rick and K at Providence. This wine was borderline last time we had it, so we were curious how it would be. It was different and awesome. Super impressive and showed perfectly. Loved it. — 10 years ago
Surprisingly amazing at this price point. Not a fruit bomb, as I was fearing. Even our Burgundy snob friends might choke it down. — 10 years ago
2012. Borderline orange wine. Really cool. Strong acid, grip, slightly oxidized, mineral. — 10 years ago
I bought a few cases of this and it is borderline chateau neuf de Pape quality for $12 — 11 years ago
Began as chocolate covered cherry with a raisin-y note. Thought it was borderline oxidization, but it all came together in a silky, chocolate covered baked plum essence, guava, soy-citrus and old roses. Medium mouthfeel; creamy into silky, muscled tannins. Granite gravel, roasted, carmelized, red grapefruit, cranberry reduction, more sexiness than you can handle. Burgundian ending with tannins like smoke trailing for miles. — 10 years ago
Borderline good-griefer, definitely kickass. Bright, balanced. Just a beauty in a good place. Is there a better producer in NSG? — 10 years ago
Concentrated and borderline orange. In a good way! — 10 years ago
I bought it 5 years ago and it was tight borderline undrinkable, but I knew I had to wait. What a drink! — 10 years ago
Sneaking a peek at the Montre-Cul with the some Dijon chicken. Charles Curtis has really got me fired up on these historic sites of Burgundy... This wine comes from north of Marsannay and the tight, dark, reticent character of the wine matches it's borderline location. For a wine this tight and brooding, it sure did go down fast with the chicken. The mystery of Burgundy! — 11 years ago
Inky powerful 14.5 ABV Gigondas. Borderline red/dark fruit. Needs a couple of years. — 10 years ago
Fred #Prinz is one of those multi-talented winemakers that can do it all: dry, off dry, sweet, sticky and reds.
This remarkable late harvest #Riesling, which is borderline Auslese, has an almost creamy consistency with a lengthy honeyed finish that is not at all cloying--a magical wine! #2007 #Jungfer #spätlese #goldkapsel — 10 years ago
A mirror of its terroir, this Diamond Creek is multi-layered, super packed and multi dimensional. Still tight, it boasts lots of mature red fruit, borderline jammy but melted with a beautiful meaty, savory core. Powerful and intense, this is serious. I would have it with a short-rib and Angus Burger, truffle mayo and smoked provolone. — 10 years ago
2 years ago this was a hot disjointed mess. Now it is a borderline masterpiece. The tannins have resolved and unity reigns. Red fruit, vanilla, spice box. Lovely. I'm not sure if Nic Allen or Luc Morlet is the winemaker but kudos to whomever crafted this. — 10 years ago
Unique, creamy - borderline nutty finish...overall fun! — 11 years ago
Dark mocha- Brown sugar - concentrated red/ruby fruits, mouthwatering but borderline jammy - oak tannins seem to provide the structure - 91 points - lost to Pegau 1997 CNDP (13 to 9) but may not have been a fare fight:: France vs California by learnaboutwine.com 5.25.14 #delectable #wine — 11 years ago
