30 mins after opening I was drinking a Chianti... vacuumed it and revisited the next evening and found myself drinking an exquisite Chianti! It become dynamic and as such, I recommend this wholeheartedly especially if you’re staring down a big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with your homemade red sauce. — 6 years ago
Nice little Natty BDX blend from Veneto. Fruit is ripe and suave but it’s got an earthy mineral edge. Acid and tannin both elevated, this was an absolutely perfect foil for a rich homemade pici pasta with sausage, pesto, and farmers market tomatoes. Forgot about it in the fridge for a couple days, mousy on day 3, so drink quickly. — 7 years ago
Fantastic jug wine. Old school, drinkable and flavorful. Fruity with tanins and no sweetness, just like homemade backyard wine... — 7 years ago
Bought with anniversary gift from mom, drank with homemade pasta/hot sausage/eggplant/roast garden tomato yummy dinner :-)
Good but a little on the thin side for my taste, mike loved it.

Very tasty. Full body, ripe berry, medium tannins. With homemade pasta. Excellent. — 9 years ago
Tar, cigar, cedar, black currant, meat juice. Wow what a muscular Medoc nose! The palate is a bit underwhelming considering the strength of the nose but it's still very enjoyable (this is neither 2009 nor 2010 🤔). Strong acid drive, nice matter and width, bright black currant all along, grainy tannins but rather short finish with a bitterness which is a bit on the green side, showing a bit of a vegetal thing which could be connected to, or understood as a bit of a lack of ripeness. This is subtle, so it doesn't make it unbearable, but it's certainly not as brilliant as 2009 and 2010. It is very high standard nonetheless! We paired it with homemade meatballs (with cumin and zucchini), meat gravy and mashed pumpkin/potatoes. Great pairing — 6 years ago

Shows the warm of the ‘09 vintage very well. Succulent, full, guided by its overt personality than alluring tension. Plenty of bright acid, tannins are sleek and show a musculature nature without being too dominating on the palate. Ripe black cherry, roasted strawberry, candy cap mushroom, tar, rose, licorice candy, ferns, Ceylon, ting of allspice. Very happy with how this drank, perfect for homemade Pappardelle w/braised rabbit (in Burlotto Pelaverga of course) — 7 years ago

Went great with homemade green curry — 9 years ago
Lush, fruit forward. Candied dates, prunes, clove, roasted character on the front. Gives way to a darker smoked meat character. Was the best with the homemade salad dressing consisting of avocado, fresh basil, Greek yogurt, green onion, garlic and parsley. In a way I could see all of these characteristics in this wine. In the past these have seemed a little tight and a bit closed off on the finish, but this wine was ready for the show. I think this producer is really quite underrated when it comes to the time it takes for these to really start expressing and I would put these up against any of the South African 'first growth' wineries. — 7 years ago
